The 6 course meal we got was perfect assembled with ingredients from local producers, and the dessert couldn鈥檛 be better! It was a traditional Danish 鈥淩酶dgr酶d med fl酶de鈥?(stewed fruit with cream) with delicious crunch and liquorice.
Go for the wine pairing (Vinmenu) and enjoy the small stories from the young sommelier; incredible knowledge and passion this young guy has. It seems like he know his guests and when to add a little more to the story and when to stop and leave the guest alone to enjoy their wine (and food).
And a good little special 鈥渇eature鈥?if you鈥檙e going with someone that doesn鈥檛 drink alcohol; Fakkelgaarden has develop a 鈥渏uice鈥?pairing menu. We didn鈥檛 try that (the rooms where offered at a very reasonable price) but it seems like a good non-alcoholic alternative!

The food was fantastic, but to be a little negative also very classic and the kitchen played safe, the wine menu even greated. But the most fantastic was actually the location. Spectacular sea view, nice decor, and a great wine sellar, where we enjoyed our Aperitif. The waiters made us feel really comfortable and no "noses in the sky"
That said the place is not cheap, but you pay for quality and compared with other restaurants at that level they appeared cheaper.
If you travel to Sonderjylland you most try it!!!
