First Ave Rocks

Great gym. Staff and gym culture is supportive of any level climber. Always check Groupon before you go, because they post deals regularly. They opened a second gym with taller walls and more open space that is amazing , but it's a little further out.

Went for Father's Day. First time climber at age 45. Great unique place. Friendly and helpful staff. Has probably 10-12 different climbing walls with beginner to expert levels. Affordable price and would highly recommend.

First Ave is an amazing bouldering gym. The staff and patrons all treat each other with so much respect. It doesn't matter if you have been climbing here for years or if it's your first day to the sport this place will be perfect for you.

They boast three desperate climbing areas with 3 walls in each of the areas. They use a dot system with a 🙂 being the most beginner then "one dot", "two dots" and so on becoming more advance with more dots. They make it easy for you to learn how to incrementally progress your skills and strength. They have a cross fit area in the front, a moon board, and multiple hang boards.

Kids are more than welcome. They host summer sessions and even birthday parties. They are very accommodating so if you need something just ask. They have changing rooms, tables, lockers, seats, and even snacks for you to use or eat. You can rent the shoes right there for a minimal price.

This place literally "rocks". It just has the most welcoming atmosphere. I was a new climber about 6 months ago and I never once felt embarrassed to try new routes. Definitely worth checking out!
