Bought some gear off the site, and the seller shipped within a couple days. However USPS lost my package for about 3 weeks. I reached out to GearTrade and they were super responsive, helpful, and kept me in contact with the seller in order to file claims, etc until my package finally arrived.

BEWARE SELLERS
While this site might be good for buyers, the payment processing for sellers is unacceptably slow. I processed and shipped order and it was delivered to the buyer two days later, but I have been waiting for more than two weeks to receive payment for my order. I would not recommend this site to others!

Shipping is very fast and easy to contact the owner for any request!

As a seller for around 3 months now, GearTrade is incredibly efficient and has a great UI to quickly sell and list items. I am very thorough with my pictures, descriptions, and pricing so I have not encountered any problems with either GearTrade or my customers. Be honest with your sales and receive honest customers in return 🙂

GearTrade's return policy limits are 72 hours from receipt. The policy may be ok for clothes or shoes that are easily inspected, but problems with items like tents or sleeping pads (leaks, etc.)may not be evident until after 72 hours. In that case, you are just left with a used, defective item with cash gone. Better to look elsewhere.

As a seller I am most disappointed with the site. I have had 5 offers on a tent which I accepted but NONE have followed thru with the purchase.
Having read complaints here about buying then getting a note the item is not available I am wondering g if this is happening or whether people just can't follow thru.

I have tried to re outfit my camping and backpacking gear from this site. I have a family and kids so I wasn't looking to pay full price and gently used gear is just broken in as far as I'm concerned. However!!!, this site if you purchase from any sellers other than Backcountry, is hit or miss at best. I have had less than a 50% completion rate with my orders. When I try to contact gear trade I get the same cut and paste responses over and over again. Always , reason for cancellation: none. I am beyond disappointed with this site and will never use it again. Buyer beware. Seems like it could be an amazing concept if they procured the items from the sellers before listing them that way you would be assured when you try to purchase something through them, YOU WOULD ACTUALLY RECIEVE IT!!!!!!

Received all payments and follow up on making sure that payments were on time and follow up was excellent. Did very well corresponding information between buyers and seller.

I have never had a problem on GearTrade. Customer service was helpful when needed. I have bought and sold over $1,000 worth of items. Great site

Retail on Kuhl jacket I liked $169 – found on here – used but in excellent condition it said – received in a week for $100 less than retail and it's in perfect shape – very happy!

Item sold on Jan. 10th. It is February 25th and I still have not received payment. Customer service responds to my emails, but there is still no check in my mailbox.

Buyer lied about the condition of a product I sold on the site. There's no way to disapprove it once it's in the buyer's possession. I asked for it be returned to me and the sale canceled, but GearTrade never pushed it with the buyer. So I got stuck with a bad review that weighed heavily on my trust rating. They take 13% of your profit. I have had far better luck selling on ebay and craigslist.com. This outfit is sketch.

I purchased a pair of women's Patagonia baggies (shorts) from Geartrade. I had never heard of the website so I was a little worried it may be a scam, so I checked several review websites online before I bought anything. Most reviews were good, although there were one or two of course who had a bad experience either with a seller or with customer service. My order was shipped very soon (I think the day after) I ordered it, and it arrived on my doorstep 4 days after. The shorts were in "like-new" condition as previously described on the webpage and I have been very satisfied with the order overall. I bought them for a little over half price of the new retail price and they were SO worth it.
In conclusion, I would recommend this website. It's very similar to eBay, so it's wise to check the reliability of sellers before buying, but I loved my experience with Geartrade. I will probably buy from them again!

Beware when you purchase from Gear Trade. I ordered two items from this company. One was a pair of scuba shoes. When they arrived they were not as described. Very small and would not fit me. It took approx ten days to receive them. I want to return them but Gear Trade will not accept it.
Second item I ordered was scuba gloves. I received a e-mail this morning from they the order has been cancelled by them. No reason. After waiting ten days they cancelled the order.
How can a company operate this way? Very Very poor customer service and I will not do any more business with them, What a rip off company.

Might be a good place to buy items, but think twice before trying to sell anything. Buyer received my item 5 days ago, still no word about payment…

Their policy states that the buyer has 72 hours to inspect the item before payment is sent. In any case, 8 days have passed and I have yet to see any kind of payment.

Today is February 16th, and I have yet to see any kind of payment for the item I shipped in good faith. I will give it 24 hours before I report the item as stolen to my local police department. It has been 19 days since I shipped it.

This website has everything, even inspirational videos! I spent much time and bought what I wanted.

Helmet was just as it was described… maybe a little better. Shipping was incredibly fast. Will shop here again!

Great opportunity to get new or lightly used gear for cheap

Purchased a Ski Helmet.

Product just as listed. Delivery was a bit delayed but
not a major concern and would use gear trade again.

The jacket I ordered was in PERFECT condition, like brand new and I got it for 1/3 of its retail cost. Not only that, shipping was free and FAST. Within a week fast. Definitely going to check Gear Trade for gear before paying full price in a retail store.

This was my first purchase with GearTrade. I was very pleased with the prompt customer service and the seller's prompt shipping. I haven't set the tent up yet, but it looks great. Would definitely buy from GearTrade again.

I bought this as a birthday gift for my grandson. This is quite the contraption. He is very excited about it, even though it is not his birthday yet. My only issue with it is that it could have come in nicer packaging, instead of just a bag being that the price of it was not cheap. Other than that, I will write again and let you know how he likes it.

I've stuck with BackCountry since free shipping and I know I can return the items. I have found a few items to be not quite what I expected (shorts listed at 32 were 32-34 expandable; one shirt didn't list that the check pattern on back was uneven across the shoulder seam). When I tried an independent seller they (the seller) just cancelled my order. GearTrade notified me and asked for input so it appears they weed out the bad sellers.

I have found good deals there and will continue to shop through GT.

Good product, great price, received on time and as described.

My shopping experience was great. I have no complaints.
