GeekBuddy

I wasted the $169 today. I told them the problem while on the call with the sales staff who said they could fix it. Then the technical staff told me they could not fix the problem. It seems the sales staff was more intent on the subscription charge than actually fixing the problem.

Some years ago, I wasted a $99 annual "special" on GeekBuddy subscription, thinking it was to be better than the free version. It wasn't, at all.
And now, with my paid Comodo Internet Security Complete, GeekBuddy is supposed to support. It does not. I am 3 weeks in to a royal hacking of my computer now. Hours & hours wasted in many emails, live chats and telephone calls to Geek Buddy, and there is NO CONTACT from them. That's hours wasted on hold in chats and calls and no one responds. You cannot ask any simple question, even by email, and expect to get a direct and fulfilled answer from Filipino or Indian GeekBuddy.
I even tried ringing Comodo in New Jersey. No live person. All calls [particularly to GeekBuddy] have you wait over 10minutes, then recording says "you are first in line" but you may leave a message but the inbox is full. Then, "click", you are disconnected.
Comodo has left me the effects of 3 weeks in to a hacking.
Do not fall for their GeekBuddy.
Now, I must hire a local 'geek' by the hour.

Tried many times to get help but after endless suggestions, from their auto response server, to visit various help forums, which didn't answer my problem, I have never been able to converse with a human.
My opinion – JUNK SERVICE.

I went to live chat due to a virus, typed everything out, sent information to the tech. Waited and waited and then the chat screen disappeared. Started all over again, got the same tech, entered all the information again, was left waiting again for about half an hour; finally typed to tech "are you still there?", no answer. A few minutes later the tech closed the chat session without any replying anything. So I wasted almost an hour while waiting for some help or at least a reply of some kind.

I was downloading a game onto my computer and it came up with "do you want this app to do changes to your computer?" after i said yes random apps started downloading i deleted them all then GeekBuddy popped up saying things like my computer is not protected against malware and other $#*! like that, when i played a game or something on full screen it'll crash then say like Steam has crashed.
I knew it was a scam because i try to uninstall it but it kept popping up with scareware. Earlier this year i downloaded an uninstaller to remove geekbuddy thanks to their software they got rid of it,I've not gotten any scareware pop-ups from geekbuddy COMODO anymore. this is coming from a high school student (17)

Hi Geekbuddy, Matthew here. Just a quick comment to say, I will not remote control my PC to anyone ever again. I was speaking to Zander and promised me that if he remote controls my laptop to fix the issue I had on my laptop. He would fix it. So I did the dumb thing as pressed the "Remote MY PC" button. On one of the geeksupport pages, it keep flashing JOBS, so I kept looking at what they were fixing. After that, the fixes on the JOBS page had finished. Anyways to cut the long story short, I said to Zander that I will restart my laptop to see if any changes were made. I did the restart, a compaq red screen came up as my starting logo, then the screen went black, then dimmed, then after that it came up with a BSOD! After that, my windows software had recovered from a critical error, thankfully. So if my advice, is if you want to use Geekbuddy for help out with your pc issues. Don't. Even if you are using Comodo Internet Security 10 with the upgrade.

I called for a specific issue and had a technician on a call with someone else while he was dealing with me. Unprofessional. Furthermore, the tech took 5 minutes to look at my computer and said he could not help. A waste of an hour. I will not be using this service again.

I did not install GeekBuddy on my computer but it just one day popped up and I have been trying to uninstall it for months. All it does is give you popups on the side of your screen with "critical issues" that are completely inexistent and annoying. Once i went to my programs to uninstall it removed the file from my computer but the program was still running. While writing this review, GeekBuddy popped up four times. I am warning you STAY AWAY!!!!

Left a PUP.Optional.Spigot.generic file on my computer. Why? These are Potentially Unwanted files (PUP) and usually cause problems.

its horrible. it forced its self on my computer bringing other useless things to. false virus popups, slowing computers, the online tech people sound like robots even on the phone, its very hard to delete, if you still want a useable computer of any kind stay as far as you can.

GeekBuddy adds popped up on my screen every minute when I was using my pc,warning of many issues found, then numerous malware found, and finally system critical, and programs crashing! their phone number was written large across the add, so I called them. They told me that they could repair my computer and give me a one year service contract for $200.00, or a special deal of three years for only $150.00more. I declined the extra period of protection and told them that I could Not afford it. So then they asked if I was a senior citizen and said they would sell me the extra two year period for only $79.00 Well, like a fool I bought it. After more than 3 hours of being passed from one tech rep to another, I told them that I had to leave, and could they finish up without me, I ws told by the last tech support guy that would be no problem. two hours later while I'm away from home , GeekBuddy called me wanting to know if I could restart my computer. I reminded them that I was not at home, so they said no problem, as they still had remote access to my computer. When I returned home, I tried to use the computer and got a popup message that my computer was not protected. When I tried to call GeekBuddy I got nothing, so I looked at my call logs of my phone to get the number that they called me from and it is a five digit number which is not a usable number for calling them .In the end I called McAfee and they uninstalled GeekBuddy, now my computer works just fine. I need to contact GeekBuddy so that I can get my money back. this company is the worst!

This service is a joke. If you have a lot of time on your hands and don't mind the trial and error method of problem solving, then I guess it would be OK. But my experience of spending OVER 4 HOURS on a chat, waiting and waiting for my technician to work on my computer (at the same time as multiple others I am sure) and no solution from when I started, then requesting to speak to a supervisor.-who could not talk to me fore 45 minutes… with a final result being finding out from the supervisor that the problem was with something that was not checked for 5 hours!!!
