Gelert

The shoes appear to fit differently. One is tight and a bit short whereas the other one is difficult to get tight enough and feels loose. I haven鈥檛 had this problem with any other shoes. They even look different although they are definitely a pair. The quality looks and feels cheap and nasty.

Had Gelert Eiger hiking boots. The boots were very comfortable and they did keep the water out, but the soles are thin and hollow, and have failed after approx 100 miles of walking. Such a shame, as the uppers and lining are still in perfect condition. Yes, they were cheap, but I got a pair of Grade 1 Altberg Defenders online for the same price, and I suggest that anyone else does the same.

You don't deserve 1 star what a lot of rubbish your boots are. Bought ladys walking full leather Friday walked the dogs Saturday morning on wet grass and my feet are soaking wet, took them back got no refund as I was told that leather was not waterproof, so what good are walking boots if you can not get them wet.

I've just bought some Gelert Horizon Mid Walking Boots. They are a Junior size, as although I'm an adult my feet are only size 5. I went for a dog walk this morning in these boots and so far I'm very impressed. They went through torrential rain, wet grass, puddles and mud. My feet remained bone dry and toasty warm. I've had so called 'waterproof' boots previously, which turned out not to be waterproof at all and came home with soggy feet. This was not the case today, although based on other reviews this situation may not last long. If things change I'll post an update.

FOUR times I've emailed you now to report an issue with a pair of boots I have. Supposed to be waterproof but absolutely NOT!! What sort of customer service is this if you don't even have the courtesy to reply to anyone? Terrible…. Will NEVER buy a Gelert product again. I suggest you don't either. No surprise you have such a low rating on here.

I don't even want to give 1 star. These are poor quality and they rub terribly! Walked only 2 miles and have 2 blisters

Amazing boots! We bought our leather walking boots in Wales from a Gelert outlet 15 years ago. I have walked 1000's of miles in these boots and still they are going strong. Best boots I have ever bought!

Bought these last year.Be warned heels are not solid, they're quite hollow and split very quickly.
Absolute daylight robbery. Would never touch gelert footwear again!
Shameless that these are still on sale.
Sports direct need to check these on their quality control if they have one.

Poor quality soles. Worn out within 6 weeks of casual walking. Soles rubbing away and split, letting in water. Absolutely useless for anything more than walking around the house in. Shame, because they are comfortable.

Maker of poor quality outdoor gear. Parts of my anorak dropped off very quickly so the hood cannot be secured. Zip is quite good and it looks ok but basically it is no good. And at mid price is would be crazy to buy one of these – you can get a better kag for half the price.

Lasted just 4 hours.
Purchased thermal socks x 6, the first pair lasted just 4 hours before the toes were through, tried the rest, all the same, absolute waste of time and the worst outdoor kit I have ever owned.Contacted Sports direct who stated they couldn't do anything with out the receipts, who keeps receipts for socks! they were still in their packaging but it wasn't enough, Gelert/ Sports direct seem to make it deliberately difficult.
Poor stitching on the seams, cheap and nasty with a loose fit, avoid these products.

I bought a pair of Gelert walking boots approx Jan 2017 and have had no problems. I wear them for dog walking in squelchy parks and long grass during the winter months and they have always kept my feet dry.
An excellent product.

Bought a pair of Gelert walking boots as an extra pair of dog walking footwear. Very got soaked from the outset in light drizzle, I might as well just worn sandals. After only 2 months the heel on one boot had a hole in it!!!
Total waste of money!!

Literally the worst product I have ever bought. Yes they only cost 拢24.99, so reasonable price, but you expect a minimum of 6 months of use. I got 5 weeks!! Initially I thought they were ok and seemed waterproof after wearing them about 20 times in various weather and terrain. But 5 weeks in, I went on a dog walk and it was pouring. Within minutes my feet and socks were squelching. I couldn't understand it until I go home and checked them. The souls/tread of the shoes, so the bit you expect to be long lasting, both shoes had big holes in. After 20 dog walks, the souls had split, in different parts of each shoe. Absolutely shocking for a shoe that claims to be a walking shoe. If I could give this product 0 stars I would. Avoid at all costs. I thought I'd picked up a bargain, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. But 5 weeks of wear, come on. Thankfully Sports Direct were excellent and they agreed to let me exchange, so I paid more money for a pair of Merrell walking shoes and they've been amazing, just like the reviews say.

I cannot endorse whatsoever Gelert Walking Shoes after this experience, a truly shocking product that shouldn't be on the market.

I purchased a pair of Gelert Ottawa Mid Mens Boots which I wore whilst taking my dogs for a walk. My feet felt pretty damp fairly quickly, but I thought that it was my feet sweating. When I came home and took the boots off, my feet were absolutely soaking. I couldn鈥檛 believe it. The grass only had morning dew on it. I have now tried them a couple of times and have been soaked each time. I would be dryer wearing sandals.

I decided to take them back to the store where I had purchased them. Unfortunately, I was told by the manager that he wouldn鈥檛 even test them as they are not waterproof. Who ever heard of walking boots that are not waterproof? They leak, but he wouIdn鈥檛 test them. Even my canvas pumps don鈥檛 leave my feet as wet. I have spent 拢24.99 on a product that is completely useless to me.
I wish that I had checked the online reviews before buying them as the reviews are much the same as my experience.

Wish I had checked the reviews before I bought a pair of 'waterproof' walking shoes! After walking only a short distance, my feet were absolutely sodden. Utterly terrible.

Gelert walking shoes from Sports Direct – waste of money.
Bought these because they were described as waterproof.
They鈥檙e not.
My feet were soaked after walking through grass wet with dew.
Waste of money.

I bought a pair of Gelert walking shoes, wish I hadn't bothered! They are the worst shoes I have ever bought, my feet were soaked from just walking on wet short grass. The base lining in one shoe collapsed within a month, making it feel like I was walking on hard plastic honeycomb bricks. The most uncomfortable, waste of money ever. I will not buy anything Gelert again.

Gelert is now owned by Mike Ashley's Sport Direct empire, which effectively says it all. Taken what was a good reliable brand and turned it into tat!
My experience with these Gelert Horizon Low "shoes" is dreadful. To be fair they were only 拢24.99 however they are all but unwearable. They feel incredibly cheap with no support and an insole that is little more than a covering of cloth. The sole is cheap plastic and doesn't flex resulting the feeling that you are wearing clogs!!!
After 4-5 times on, and resultant sore feet, I have finally thrown in the towel and given them to charity (God help whoever has them though).
Cannot recommend – they are utter garbage!
