I'm disappointed I even have to give them a single star. They deserve none. I wish I had seen the many reviews posted here before I ever purchased from the company. We purchased an electric ATV for my son. Jeff Backer, the owner, said it would arrive in 3-9 days. It took 45 days to ship to us. Then we use it for less than 2 days and the battery dies. Given the awful customer support from the beginning of our order and utter lack of communication throughout the process, I wanted to return the unit. It's defective and out of principal, I didn't want it anymore. Now, we are stuck with the shipping fees to return it which costs as much as the ATV itself. I have over 25 emails to Jeff and he's not called me back despite me saying I didn't want to communicate via email and would like to speak with him. This place is a total joke. I will tell everyone I know to never purchase from them. Save yourself the heartache, frustration, disappointment, and hassle.

Customer service is terrible! Tried ordering a replacement rim for a go cart I purchased here. After I placed 8 calls and voicemails, and sent 4 emails, they got back to me finally via email 3 WEEKS LATER! It then took 1 more months to actually get them to send the replacement bc their responses take so long and they refuse to call you. When I finally received the replacement, 4 weeks after they sent it, IT WAS THE WRONG PRODUCT! Well, here we go again, I sent them pictures of the wrong product, as well as testimonials from a local auto part store telling them it was wrong and they still have not gotten back to me, again. IT HAS BEEN MONTHS, now. I will never order from these people again. I finally reported them to my bank and the BBB. I was able to order the correct replacement part from eBay and received it in 2 days. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for your purchase, and read the company reviews before you order. Don鈥檛 make the same mistake I did.

These people are rude and dishonest. Promised out the door price, and I repeatedly asked out the door right and he assured out the door, but next day tried to add all kind of bs charges. Then a really rude woman hung up on me and said maybe she will have someone call me. Then told us battery was new charged and ready. Just awful customer service and still no title. Putting in report with better business bureau.

This company is a scam, do not buy from them! Customer service is horrible, they hung up on me. They won't call you back unless you want to purchase the product. Once that's done you can never get a hold of them again. Jim wouldn't take calls from me, but he was so helpful and nice when he sold it to me. Ruined my daughters Birthday gift. They will only email you, make you send videos and pictures and drag it on for months only to tell you it's the charger that doesn't work. This was supposed to go 18 mph and it goes 6. We paid $588 for nothing. It's garbage and can't even be driven for more than 10 minutes without dying when it should last hours. Everything online and what the salesman told me it did was a lie! This company is a scam, and needs to be reported!!

The owners of Family Go Karts are crooks. They took advantage of my older parents who bought a go kart for their grand kids. They needed some support with a newly delivered go kart that they couldnt get started. They called and emailed for 3 weeks and they would not even call them back. My parents had to pay for someone to come out and fix THEIR BRAND NEW $2,000 go kart that they could not start from day 1. Its a shame. All they had to do was call them back and walk them through the process of fixing it.
Do not buy from them. Once they make the sale, they split.

After quad blazer 9 arrived . I was very excited to build this quad for my daughter. She Was coming home in 3 days so super excited to see her face . In the mean time battery holder is cracked at the hold down area… so I bungy it for now. Then when my daughter finally sees the quad we take them out the next day and gas starts pouring out of the bottom of carburetor out the hose… these things shouldn鈥檛 be happening . Now we can鈥檛 ride . And Customer service is totally negative in every conversation . Wish I would鈥檝e never purchased this . Should鈥檝e just went to a Yamaha raptor. Totally disappointed

Placed an order for a birthday gift. Elected to add their "Hot move" for faster processing. O=der placed on Thursday and verified Friday morning. Was told the order was in stock and would ship within the business day with the hot move. Monday no email and no charge. Called and support staff said there was no update, so i emailed the transport email as directed. A day later and no response, called amd was told I would get a call back. Hours later no call, so I called again and the lady said it would be later today or tomorrow. Wasn't the point of paying extra so it would be processed quicker? Anyways she said i needed to verify the order which was done last week. Then she says the item is not in stock and it would be 4-5weeks and then shipping. Would have been nice to have bwen told that upfront. Customer service also acted like they could care less. Cancelles order and will not use nor recommend them for any orders. Stay away if you value your time and money!

Do not purchase from this company. One of their top sales customer service representatives has a known (and confirmed by management) attitude. I was hung up on after asking the representative why it seemed like she had an attitude and her manager confirmed that's how she talks and they have a policy of hanging up on customers who are uncooperative. **For the record, I was very cooperative but you will not speak to me or anyone in any kind of manner**

End result…cancelled order!

Bought a Chinese atv for my kids from this company. They had no problem making phone calls when it came to taking my $1000 but after only 2 weeks of use the atv is smoking. When I called to address the issue I spoke with a female who clearly had no working product knowledge who tired to dismiss the issue as 鈥渘ormal鈥?(which it鈥檚 not)
She then refused to identify herself or position. Claimed it was 鈥渋rrelevant鈥?
When I requested to speak to a mgr supervisor or owner I was hung up on twice.
I was told that issues can only be handled via email and that support staff don鈥檛 have telephone access, also that 鈥渢hey鈥檝e been doing it this way for 30 years鈥?br />
I will be filing a credit card charge back request and a fraud report though my bank and local law enforcement.

I purchased 2 TaoTao Boulder 110s for my children for Christmas 2019.聽 After +5 months of dealing with Family Go-Karts/BW Incorporated I feel compelled to share my experience with all of you 鈥?in the hopes you will avoid the pain we experienced.聽 I understand that these products are 鈥淢ade In China鈥?and thus of inferior build quality when compared to other machines, so I expected a fair amount of tinkering would be necessary.聽 I am mechanically inclined with a broad assortment of specialty tools (mostly work on heavy equipment) so I felt that the risk of inoperability would be minor.聽 I will share the problems I have encountered so far with these machines briefly.聽 However, the bulk of my review will focus on the exceedingly poor customer service I received from familygokarts & its parent company Backer Wencel Incorporated.聽

Mechanical encountered over 5 months of VERY light use by my children:

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Faulty batteries (acid leaks/VERY dangerous 鈥?replaced both with iGel at my own expense)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Cosmetic/assembly faults (seats don鈥檛 sit right, plastic chips, frames over-tightened at factory)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 VERY LOUD exhaust malfunction on one machine

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Multiple brake system failures (scary on a kids鈥?machine!) 鈥搘e found out that once the brakes warm up- ANY contact with moisture caused the piston to hyper-extend 鈥?effectively locking the pads into the rotors.聽 (as of this writing I have replaced EACH set 3 times-2 at my own expense)

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 One headlight burn out

One reason I purchased frkm them was their much touted 鈥渃ustomer service鈥?& 鈥渨arranty鈥?as I knew there would likely be problems given the quality of the product.聽 My experience has horrific.聽 I have saved my communications with them 鈥?and plan to also file a formal complaint with the BBB of MN.聽聽 In the interest of brevity 鈥?please see summary below: (keep in mind this occurred over FIVE MONTHS of respectful email communications):聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Discounts (not really) 鈥?I purchased 2 units over the phone, expecting multiple discounts for a.) purchasing more than one unit b.) signing up for their text service 鈥淕imme 40鈥?& c.) paying cash 鈥?the salesman spoke VERY rapidly rushed to get me off the phone聽 (even trying to not give me a total once he had my check #) 鈥?once I received the invoice聽 – I realized that the discounts 鈥渙verlapped鈥?so I really received one discount.聽 Given that it was Christmas & I was exceedingly busy 鈥?I just chalked it up to a life experience and moved on.聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Abysmal customer service 鈥?communication was only done by email (at their request-no phone) 鈥?avg response time was 7.22 days from the email sent to response received; once I was even admonished to 鈥渟how some respect鈥?that they answered my email at all!聽

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Delays to avoid warranty claims 鈥?when requesting warranty parts for the brakes, I provided 23 pictures and 9 videos.聽 By month 5, they told me I needed to remove and reinstall again the OEM brakes, then remove and reinstall the incorrect sizes (that they sent me 2x) and redo the videos – realized they were just stringing me along to get to the 6-month warranty expiry

路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Complete lack of mechanical savvy (especially on the products they sell)聽 – example 鈥?after providing photos/video evidence of piston freeze 鈥?Family go Kart' response was that all I needed to do was 鈥済rind the pads down鈥澛?- oh my!聽 Also, they sent the wrong brakes 鈥?TWICE (sent the wrong part 2x for each machine over two months apart)

In the end 鈥?my kids have ended up riding these things about 6 hours in total over 5 months as we wait for parts/responses.聽 My recommendation to you (if you are going to buy a Chinese product) is to seek out an alternative vendor.聽 Prices are very comparable across the spectrum (if you get 鈥渇ree delivery鈥?you just pay for it elsewhere).聽 Learn from my pain.聽 Hope this helps-feel free to reach out to me for more detai

This company proved to be terrible. The go cart we purchased mostly assembled (Trailmaster Mid XRX/R) arrived missing the bolts to complete putting it together (roll bar, etc.). After many attempts dealing with the service department through work orders, etc. we did a bunch more research online and ultimately found out we had a local dealer that sold this model and also repaired them. That dealer got the parts we needed and also repaired the engine because it would not run. It runs like a champ now. In another work order we sent in a picture of damage to one of the seats but they just closed the work order out without doing anything. In my opinion you should avoid this company! They have good ratings but I believe no one has ever had to deal with their service department.

Nothing more than someone to take your money and send you a product. If your product has any issues you will be on your own. Multiple small issues that would be easy for them to correct on our newly delivered go kart. Unfortunately all their promises are empty. All I can do is pay for repairs myself and warn future buyers. Go with their competitor who will actually give you customer service. I'm sure they'll come back with some bogus excuses to protect their bottom line. Do your research before you buy. I should have checked how low their rating is. Their "free shipping" isn't free 😉

1. Missing screw
2. Paint missing due to parts rubbing during shipping
3. Carb leaks, floods engine, hard start, no way to adjust carb as promised.

The GK 110 go-kart I had purchased from family go-kart is everything I expected and then some The rear axle is very heavy-duty more than I expected The seat able to move forward and backwards is awesome The whole layout on the go-kart is very well designed My grandson's going to get many many years of riding and enjoyment out of it, and once again thanks for the quick shipment of the product I got it quicker than I ever ever expected that means a lot I think it took maybe 4 days to get here That's counting the weekend awesome job guys appreciate y'all I will be doing business with you in the future

We couldn't drive the bike except around the block because it took them a month and a half to send us the bill of sale so we could get a tag. The clutch went bad after 50 miles and then they offered to send us a new clutch as long as we paid for shipping and paid to have it installed. The carburetor went bad shortly after that and the engine bolts that hold it to the frame started breaking while it was being ridden. Their warranty is a farce because if they send you a bike that doesn't work, you have to pay to return it or have it fixed. If they agree to send you a new part to replace the one that was defective, you have to pay them to have the part shipped to you and pay to have it fixed. They are scammers. Never buy a bike from familygokarts!

The business, Family GoKarts, was great. Easy ordering, fast response. The only issue I had was with the shipping company. They delivered quickly and within the time frame quoted, however, the driver refused to enter our property to drop the ATV off at our cabin. I paid extra to have it taken off the truck for me. Our entrance way has plenty of room, we've had 18 wheelers in there, belly dump trucks, etc. His reason for refusal to take the ATV up our driveway was " he's had past issues with customers complaining he tore up their property." We offered to sign off on something stating we give full permission and took responsibility for possible damages. He refused and got an attitude, he also started to close his trailer as if he was going to leave without dropping it. Finally, we had to go get our truck, several acres away, unload all the fencing we had in the bed, (we are in the process of crops fencing our property), and drive our truck down to the road so we could push the crate into the bed of our truck. Then, (we're 2 females mind you), we had to figure out how to get it out of the bed of our truck onto the ground. Not sure why I paid extra to have it delivered and dropped at my door. We of course figured it out, but the bottom line is yes, I would definitely buy from this company again, however, I would not recommend this shipping company nor will I ever buy anything that is being hauled/delivered by them.

This company doesn't deserve a Star that's how bad this company is. The customer support team is disrespectful and doesn't know what the mean of customer support is. I bought a product from this company and there was a bad part on the product. Not a big deal right? Wrong!!! I follow every procedure they asked and did what ever they asked and they keep ignoring the problem. So I took the product to a mechanic and they showed what was wrong with it. So I sent them everything that was wrong with it. Of course they ignored it again. So, I had to pay to have it fixed. Now I sent them the receipt to show them I had it fixed by an mechanic and I request to have an it reimbursement on the product to have it fixed. They told me "They do not reimbursed on part and labor". If anybody is looking at this company to buy any of there product I would reconsider that and with some other company that will not do this to you. I've lost almost $200 on there product

I purchased a quad for grandkids for Christmas and paid to have it expedited along with delivery. Told if I did ACH it would save money but moone ever told me doing ACH would prolong shipment. Called a few times about delivery information to be told it was shipped and I would get the information. 3 calls later to find out they hadn't shipped but was waiting on ACH. I physically had to pick up from shipment company to get in time. Quad was damaged and no foot gear shifter, which means noone can even put It in gear to ride. I have been told they contacted the company it comes from to get parts delivered but as of today there is no parts and a quad sitting in a garage unable to ride. I guess it's okay for a 7 and 10 year old to go sit on it and say vroom. They will not give me the phone number to call myself or return a call because they do everything by email. No emails either. Worst company I have dealt with and that says alot.
