They just pass your info on to other companies that ring you non stop about IVA's and Debt management programmes. Very annoying getting lots of calls from withheld numbers – unacceptable.

I googled "ageas life insurance" and was taken to the findgreatquotes page with the ageas logo. It gave me to option to "start my quote" so I clicked it. I entered some basic information and went to click next. The email and phone number fields were mandatory so I had to fill those details in before it would move to the next page.

When I got the next page it was a message box stating that someone would call me in work hours. I was not impressed. It was not made clear that the majority of details would need to be taken over the phone during work hours. In fact the site had made it seem that I could get a quote online. I thought this was misleading and I was disappointed.

As it was someone called me right away (19:10).The caller said that they were calling from "Be Protected Insurance" …. so not ageas …. or even from find great quotes!! I told them that I felt it was a bit misleading on the website with the company names and leading me to believe that I could get the quote online. I said this in a surprised voice because I was genuinely surprised to be called by another company. Suddenly the caller became very rude. He said that obviously I was new to life insurance (I am not, I have worked in insurance for 2 years and have 2 other policies already). I started to reply and the caller said that, obviously I'm new to life insurance because there are a lot of questions and I would have to speak to someone at some point to get a quote. I tried to say that I understand that but thought I could start with most of the details online and that the company names changing was my main concern really. He interrupted me to say that I had put my telephone number in so obviously I was going to get a call. He went on talking over me saying that I was making no sense and didn't know what I was talking about.

Very rude.

I called the number back and I asked for the supervisor to be put on the line. Apparently she was not there but gave her email address so the supervisor at Be Protected Insurance is about to get an email from me.

I will not continue with my quote from this company.

BUT……..

I would like to add that the supervisor from Be Protected Insurance came back to me the next morning with an APOLOGY for the poor service I have received. The Managing Director has also emailed me to acknowledge my complaint, apologise and assure me that this had been addressed with the member of staff who had taken my call. The email from the Managing Director goes into detail about the service that they can offer me and ways that they can help me even if I don't want to speak on the phone.

As you can see above the initial experience left me riled but the emails following my complaint have completely taken the wind out of my sails. Since my complaint the company representatives have been very accommodating, respectful and have given me great customer service.

On balance I would use this company for a quote. Though the experience would have been a lot better had everything been clearer from the start and if a different member of staff had called me initially!

I have talked with juniors and even senior management people and can surely say that they are highly caliber individuals. People working in office nearby my home are hard working and have excellent communication skills. Excellent products and plans to choose from which have crystal clear terms and conditions and easy to understand..
