PERSON WHO ANSWERED PHONE BARELY UNDERSTOOD OR SPOKE ENGLISH! WAS ON HOLD OVER 30 MINUTES WAITING FOR A LIVE REP! THEY TAKE FOREVER TO RESPOND TO EMAIL OR IN APP MESSAGES! I REQUESTED MY ACCOUNT CLOSED OVER 2 WEEKS AGO AND THEY STILL HAVEN'T CLOSED IT! YOU'VE BEEN WARNED!

Firstrade offered free trades at a time when other brokers were charging about $5 per trade. Back then I would put up with long phone wait times to get free trades. But now every broker offers free trades, and Firstrade's service has gone down, not up. Twice today I waited on the phone for over 30 minutes, only to have the system hang up on me. Not good when you have a problem that needs a human solution.

Provided customer background, identity check, more than enough financial assets, lots of experience. Financial economist profession. Have never been denied brokerage in half century of investing. Was denied opening account, in e-mail that also wanted to know if I were related to named powerful public officials. No denial reason given even on written request. Something very wrong here, stay away from.

I really enjoy using Firstrade. Especially I didn鈥檛 encounter any app down time during trading in these days while I heard my friends did experience app down when using other broker鈥檚 platform to trade. What else I can say, I love Firstrade!
