Fiskars

I've been using Fiskars for a while but they keep failing despite regular cleaning, sharpening and oiling. The bypass pruners (on my second pair after Fiskars authorised a replacement) are particularly rubbish and have come loose at the hinge. The small saw is also poorly made (cheap plastic handle that is coming loose) and the blade was blunt after 2 uses. I'm disappointed at the poor quality and considering how expensive they are, I expected better. I will be changing brands.

I always buy Fiskars products when shopping at Home Depot if they are available. Their lifetime warranty is totally true. I have broken 2 different sized pruning shears after several years use each and Fiskars has replaced each with no questions. Their website has a warranty section, I just take a snapshot of the tool adjacent to a yardstick so they can see the size and voila a few weeks later the item comes via fedex/ups. The tools work great and stand up to a lot of stress and wear/tear. I didn't realize this 70+ year old guy was still that strong to break a very strong tool!

i bought the powergear anvil loppers less than 4 years ago with a lot of other fisker garden tools because i always thought they were quality.although the loppers were fabulous while they worked i was chopping up a bush yesterday and the snapped right at the anvil making them useless. unless i spend not much off the total price of a new set on new blade.very disappointed they broke so quick as its not every day you use them. .

I've read some negative reviews, but many of them were for worn out pieces. I had a pair of pruners that were a little over a year old. They broke while I was using them. I contacted Fiskars and put in a claim. A few weeks later(they're busy and understaffed because box covid19) I received a brand new unit. And it was the latest version. I'm very impressed with Fiskers as they stand behind what they make. Highly recommended!

I have had this Wilkinson Sword Stainless Steel Garden Fork for about eight years, a label on its wooden handle states "LIFETIME Guarantee. .It was purchased by my wife for a birthday present for me. It鈥檚 a shame Trustpilot does not use Photos to highlight the failure of this fork. Its has had very infrequent use and two weeks ago I was lifting an overgrown Hosta in my garden and the Stainless-Steel forged shaft fractured where it meets the four prongs. It鈥檚 very obvious from the break that the construction is not solid Stainless Steel but a inferior shell inside and encased in stainless steel. The metal inside is crystallized where the break has occurred, clearly a result of faulty materials of manufacture. .I contacted Wilkinson Sword and they replied with a history of their company and explained that they did not make the fork but FISKARS were using the trademark up to 2010.and that it was reasonable for the fork to be available for a few years following the cease of manufacture. Hence my wife was able to but it eight years ago. I then wrote to Fiskars with photographic evidence of the failure and because I cannot locate the purchase receipt they aren't interested but suggested I go back to the retailer where it was purchased .This is a ridiculous statement as in the reply they had said the responsibility of the retailer is limited to the first 12 months. As my wife passed away last October, I have no way of obtaining the retailers information anyway. And explained the to. Laurene Lord

I have asked Fiskars customer service to honour their "Lifetime "Guarantee" and replace the fork with one from their current ones as a good will gesture as its quite plain to see their Garden Fork has had very little use and in almost shop condition, I certainly did not over stress it as I'm the wrong side of 80 years .I have not had a reply to this request and it appears without the original purchase receipt I'm stuffed. should have been 5 star – product branch cutters excellent i have two ,and customer service is excellent, setting an example to other companies recently cutting blade on my up 86 broke so ordered a replacement it arrived and again 5 star sensible packing , and supplied with printed instructions a service badly lacking with other suppliers. However on my other cutter similar to my up 86 (but with a cord instead of a chain) the cord broke but could not find any id number on the cutter.
then 1 star was dropped owing to the fact that i cannot find an e mail address for fiskers uk (none on the website) .and there switchboard stated that i had to e mail and send a photo of the cutter for identafication.HOW DO YOU SEND AN EMAIL TO A WEBSITE WITH NO E MAIL ADDRESS (IF THEY DO HAVE ONE IT IS NOT EASY TO ACCESS PERHAPS A COMPUTER NURD MIGHT TRACK ONE DOWN ( BUT THEN I HAVE A LIFE OTHER THAN STUDYING COMPUTERS)
Shame they are ruining the ecellent ship fo an hapeth of tar

This brand is a lipstick on a pig. Don't buy them. The small branch saw is dull in one use. I have since moved to better brands and I have a branch saw that has cut thousands of branches and IT'S STILL SHARP.. don't be fooled by the nice looking toola. Utter complete garbage. I have been meaning to write a review for a long time so here it is.

Bit more expensive than other brands and sometimes quality is a little dubious. I've had a few things break. BUT the customer support is amazing. Every item I've had an item that has broken they have replaced without question. Simply sent a photo to them and item has been replaced. For this alone they have to get 5 stars from me and I would definitely continue to pay the premium price for the products. Other companies should take note. If you want genuine brand loyalty, look after your customers the right way. Don't fight and argue when they have a problem or they'll simply walk away and never touch your brand again. Well done Fiskars. Keep it up 馃憤

I broke my 86 year old neighbor's Fiskar tree pruner helping him trim trees. (Clip only don't pull or twist). Called Fiskars factory support ( which was great) and I thought they were sending a new head for me to install, which would have been great; UPS dropped off a long box a few days later….Fiskars sent A BRAND NEW COMPLETE TREE PRUNER!
Couldn't ask for better or more generous factory support! You guys are the best!
Thank you!

My Fiskars grass shear broken when I was cutting grass around my greenhouse. I took the broken instrument to the local Fiskars representative and they sent it to Fiskars service centre. After a month I got an answer: they will not replace the broken instrument with the new one because they think that I've not properly used my instrument using it for cutting something more tougher than grass. I've read instructions before using the instrument and I've never used it for cutting branches or cables for example.
This is not the great loss for me – I can afford new shear, but I don't feel good about all this.
It looks like this was my last Fiskars instrument – great disappointment about quality and customer service.

None of the tools Ive bought bear any contact for the company
Nor the website re phone number.
There appears to be no accessible customer service dept.
I filled out an online form 10 days ago nearly and have heard nothing since then.
A website claimed Hobbycraft stocked the Fiskars item I wanted but the shop denied this.
My litter picker worked very good until the rubber cup fell off one prong
I cant take it back as Chas Olsen has shut down in UK
Also its got very stiff.

I have a pair of pruning shears that are dull despite attempts to sharpen them. The blades are worn and won't hold a sharp edge.. I submitted the warranty claim. Their customer service rep told me to sharpen them. I told them I tried that but the shears won't cut cleanly, and I want them replaced. Here is what they replied:

"FISKARS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY: This product is to be free of defects in materials, manufacture or assembly for the life of the product. Normal wear, accidental damage, sharpening, industrial use, or damage due to misuse or neglect are not covered. Defective products will be repaired, replaced or substituted with the same item or an item of equal value.
Our lifetime warranty does not guarantee that our products will last forever nor does it guarantee that they are indestructible."

This warranty is a SHAM. It covers nothing! There are so many escape clauses in it that they probably never replace anything. "Limited warranty" means your item will not be eligible for replacement. If their product wore out, too bad. Blame the customer. Everything must be YOIUR fault. BE AWARE THAT THEIR WARRANTY IS A FRAUD.

Fiskars Bypass Secateurs are positively dangerous. It is almost impossible to use them without very painfully pinching your skin, with the full leverage force of the mechanism, in the hinge as you clip. A real design fault. After too many injuries, I have destroyed mine and am unlikely to buy any Fiskars product again.

5 days ago I wrote the following review on Trustpilot:

I am handicapped due to nerve damage in鈥?br />
I am handicapped due to nerve damage in the cervical spine and have limited use of my dominant arm..
A therapist highly recommend Fiskars scissors. Within one year they don't close. This should not happen.
An email sent to the company was not answered. Therefore I cannot give this company a 5 star rating.

NEW REVIEW
Today I received a replacement scissor from Fiskars, Since I received no communication from them concerning a replacement other than an email indicating that they received my complaint, I do not know if the new scissor is a result of my email or the Trustpilot site.
Regardless, I will change my review of the company to 5 Stars since they did the right thing.

Fiskar team is excellent. They replaced me my old broken Weed puller. Basically I wrote them that –
————-
I bought Fiskars Weed puller in-store from Homebase in Brentford, London few years back. Must say, it worked really well so far but towards end of this summer season, it developed crack in plastic at the bottom part and two parts came apart (see photos). That crack lead to broken plastic support which was keeping metal piece in place. So now it is not usable and hence I am somewhat disappointed that it did not lasted long. Don't know how long the warranty is. Please see attached photos and let me know if it can be repaired or parts can be replaced.
————
And they sent me email back as below:
Hi
Your replacement has been processed.
Please allow up to 10 working days for delivery.
Your order number is …..
Kind regards,
————
Then I received the new weed puller in next few days. Excellent customer service. 10 out of 10. I am so impressed with them that I even then bought two Fiskar scissors then and they are excellent as well.

You can gauge the quality of a company by there reaction or lack of it when a problem arises with the product.
I purchased a P26 single step pair of cutters on the 22.10.19 used them for the first time for a very short period locked and put it down.
When I picked them up a shard of metal penetrated my gloved hand slicing into my thumb, I had to use forceps to remove what appeared to be a chrome-plated metal fragment. Resulting in me missing three days of work.
(I am unable to work if I have an open wound which could come in to contact with the waste process).
I emailed Fiskars without reply. A week later I phoned to be told I had to provide photographic proof to claim and that they were not responsible so I would have to take action against the retailer
The plating had parted from the metal base a clear defect which they are not willing to accept responsibility for.

I consider this a clear defect in manufacturing a recall is necessary to prevent further injury.

I will not purchase any further tools from this company.

I was also told that they did not have an office in England nor any company reps in the West Country.

Having owned a Fiskars UP53 long reach pruner for many years and always had given good performance. I was disappointed when the operating cord finnaly broke.
I enquired with Fiskars to find the availability of a replacement cord and how to fit.
I received a reply the following day informing me that the cord could not be replaced, however if sent them 2 images of the failed part they would send me a brand new UP53 pruner under there UK lifetime guarantee of which I had no idea of. This I did and within one week I had received the item.
I cannot fault Fiskars products or the service they offer.
In the future there will be one make of gardening tool I will purchase and that will be Fiskars.
Well done first class service

16" extendable loppers: Small piece mounted inside one of the handles came loose, fell out, & could not to be found, after which the handle could no longer be locked in place. I only contacted Fiskars to see if a replmnt part was available & how to reinstall it. After I submitted a couple of photos showing the loppers' ID sticker & the handle, the Company shipped me a brand new pair at no cost whatsoever. VERY much appreciated!

I purchased a Fiskars Surecut paper cutter and I can honestly say it鈥檚 brilliant! The way it works, light, portable and easy to pop a new sharp bland into the cutter. I鈥檓 now thinking about buying a Gullotine from Fiskars.

The 15" ripping pruning saw is a great blade, but I have two and I want to resharpen them, not just replace when they lose efficiency. So far I have worked out the blades' edges but not the correct angles. So while the teeth are sharp, they do not cut effectively.

I wrote to Fiskars customer service and got the reply:
"Thanks for your enquiry, here is a youtube instruction on how to sharpen, let me know how you get on
"How to sharpen a fixed hand saw
"[with a link to a youtube video]"

Not the same blade, I reply. Sending a link to the correct blade and tooth shape.

Fiskars in Australia (I think) reply:
"Same principle"

Yes, that's it. Two words reply.

Broke my 11 year old telescoping shears. Filled out the warranty form and a couple days later received a response saying they were sending me new ones. Received my new ones a few days later via courier and it didn't cost me a cent. Have several of their tools and will continue to buy Fiskars – what a great company that stands behind their products.

I broke the plastic head on my 20 year old Fiskars' pole pruner. I wrote them to ask where I could purchase the part. Grace wrote back to say that none of their dealers stocked that ancient part but she could mail me one in 7 to 10 business days, — for free. That's amazing customer service!
