I have just started my journey into the world of buying and selling websites. The process was made much smoother by Joe Burrill who sold the site on behalf of the owners. I look forward to buying many more sites from Flippa moving forward. Thank you again so much.

I tried to purchase a website, the seller was neglegent and untardy to say the least. Escrow.com your partners withheld my cash for 3 weeks, I still had to pay the transaction fee even though there was a huge lack of support. I ended up losing 38 usd and a 3 week headache.
Other than that I'm willing to try again anyways see if it goes better next time round.

The lure of online business is enticing, unless you are software developer stay away! Wish I had seen and listened to other 1 star reviews before my purchase. Seller listed site as fully operational, dumping money into it now as it has 1000+ bugs and errors and the cost is astronomical to fix. Hire a developer to make your site that will cost half of which you will pay on Flippa.

Flippa didn't help me make the transfer to the Amazon FBA account at all.
He just issued me the invoice to pay.

Very bad first time experience having purchased a website that was not the revenue generator the seller claimed it to be. Once website was migrated I released the funds from Escrow based on the seller's word that the income will be forthcoming as soon as he gets his developer to make the changes to the website. I trusted him based on his rating and reputation. You really need to verify the claims sellers make before just letting them auction of websites making specious claims.

Very smooth transactions. Keeping all comms on the Flippa platform gave me security and a chance of comeback should I have required it.

This is the worst customer service ever. They have promised a refund for a site I never received.

So they send me to escrow saying it will be refunded in a few hours, and every time I email or reach out they say the same thing.

So 1 week later and I still don't have my money back.

I got banned for unethical reason, Flippa is backing Super Sellers, they banned me for the reason of copying website, which I don't do any copyright violations. I've been created my website from the scratch. Even they don't have patience to review the source file of my website.

Anybody can cross check my website and compare with their source file hostingjug is mine and hostinglux is super seller website, that I'm using another wp theme to built my website but it's similar to hostinlux. It's not wrong. JMO. I'm taking inspiration from their website but I've modified a few in middle.

They are using a different theme as well. So it's not copying.

Themeforest selling 1000's of wp themes, most of the themes home page is the same, few people use varying options. So it's not wrong. If I'm using wp, elementor, woo-commerce, then most of the templates are the same. I believe nothing wrong in it. Flippa is just backing the super sellers who are giving good revenues to them.

Even in Flippa site rules they didn't stated anywhere that users are not allowed to make same websites. Flippa is doing Dictatorship.

When I asked and explained with each and every difference to Antoinette S (Flippa support), he simply said "The decision is final and all the best outside of Flippa."

Does flippa really thinks that creating same website is serious threat? Or Violation of Copyright Act?

I request you guys have some morality.

PS: If you are new seller stay away. May be they will ban your account for using free stock images, that some super seller may be using the same.

Update: When I cross checked so many users are selling exact copy website you may find same websites just by searching 'hosting' keyword in flippa search, I don't know how they are allowed to do it. Are they Flippa employee pal's?

Why Flippa as banned me even I build it using different themes and plugins?

I come across a great deal of wrong headed thinking about Flippa based on the fact that many assets on the site are in fact questionable. This does NOT take away from the fact that serious buyers and investors do not want to miss any needles in the haystack and will have their radar on ALL places that sell assets. From Biz buy sell to Axial to Flippa. Flippa has been around very long, and I'd bet their email list they send your deals to is deeper than most brokers. Brokers have their place for some transactions surely, but for many deals Flippa is perfect. Plus the fees are much lower than brokers by a wide margin. I have both bought 6 figure assets and sold a 7 figure assets on the platform. Their support is fast, helpful and responsive. In my mind if you're a serious buyer or seller, Flippa should be one of your FIRST stops. Definitely get on their email list.

Flippa is quite popular on the Internet because of the extensive marketing & the hefty commissions they give out to their affiliates, but the reality is FLIPPA is only "OVERATTED".
I'll share my honest experiences and advise you to STAY AWAY from Flippa or regret later.
1. You can yourself see that Flippa has reported lots of negative reviews on TrustPilot to maintain their postive ratings. Whereas here on SiteJabber they couldn't remove the bad reviews and thus have got poor ratings.

2. If you are a buyer, I warn you that buying anything on Flippa will be fully at your own risk. As there a lot of sellers on Flippa who claim to earn $xxy monthly revenue from their website & their domain is worth $xyz

No claims are verified by Flippa nor they have any responsibility over "truthness" of their listings. And most payment proofs those sellers show are only of some random spreadsheet or any screenshot only.

3. I created an account on Flippa to auction my domains but ended up wasting my time and sharing all my personal details including credit card information with them.
My card was charged $5 and verified for making a bid upto $5000 (according to their policy it'll be refunded within 5 days, but didn't got it back yet)

Next I submitted my national voter ID card to verify my ID. Sadly, Flippa banned me and said you have been banned because Flippa is unable to verify your ID.

Now, everyone knows that ID cards can vary according to the nationality & therefore some error might occur. But instead of asking for another ID, they directly banned me and gave no proper or exact reason why they were unable to verify my ID.

In all other places you will get another chance to resubmit your documents if for any reason the first attempt fails, but on Flippa it isn't the case.

I'm glad though that I didn't make any bid or purchase anything from Flippa, otherwise it too would have gone down the drain.

4. Customer satisfaction isn't their priority with POOR Customer Support & BOT like response.
My ticket no. Is #667118 which I raised for the above issue & it wasn't of any help.

I twice asked Flippa what is the exact reason that you are unable to verify my ID. A Flippa representative twice apologized that we are unable to verify your ID and thus your account is banned. You too could face such bot like annoying response.

No other exact reason or clarification has been provided till now and NO info regarding my Card Verification fees refund status is given.

All my personal data and card information is with them and they can't give any guarantee that it won't be shared with any third-party sites (Although their policy prohibits them from doing that for active accounts, inactive accounts may face a risk of such abuse)
(Note: Similar Review I have written on TrustPilot too)

STAY AWAY from this scam. They stole my money. Most of the "supper sellers" on flippa are scammers and flippa protects them. If you post a negative feedback on flippa about any
"supper sellers", flippa will remove it because they wants only positive feedback so they can misguides people to buy from "supper sellers". Flippa only cares about how to steal your money.

Flippa is NOT a financial institution nor does it handle money like bitcoin exchanges.
Inspite of that they're insanely requesting KNOW YOUR CUSTOMER selfies with govt id to be uploaded. Flippa takes payment to list websites and domains on their site. They also take a success fee. But they are not PROCESSING these payments. Escrow dot com and paypal handle the payments and distributing success fees to Flippa. Escrow and Flippa already have their own vetting controls. They have a right to since they are financial orgs. Flippa is not. Flippa's one go at trying to handle payments failed last year. They used assembly payments platform but never bother to get proper money transmitter licenses in the united states. Texas found this out and fined them a few years ago.
So flippa for a money transmitter license in Texas, but never bothered to get licenses in any other state apparently.
So here we have a company that does not currently handle ANY aspect of financial transaction processing but wants KYC info? Nope, not kosher. And now in addition to selfie requests, they want LIVENESS scans. Hilarious.
And Flippa already verifies that sellers own the domains and websites they sell.
There are reports on namepros that flippa is taking listing fees and then suspending sellers who don't verify with selfies.
According USA govt agencies, this is improper.
Even more concerning is the company flippa is using for KYC verification. Sum/sub, a russian company that pretends to be based in London. Their London address shows a maildrop service. With all the meddling in
USA elections by Russia, it's very disturbing for a Russian company to have possession of so many American ids!
It's much more suspicious that nearly all employees are in Russia, but they're tricking people that they're a london company. Sorry Flippa, no SANE Americans want to send their ids AND selfies with ids to a company who appears to have a son of PUTlN IN CHARGE!
So to all potential and current flippa customers, do NOT upload any selfie ids for Flippa.

Flippa has caused me to lose not one but two nights of sleep. As someone based in one the hardest hit Covid l9 areas who has sick loved ones suffering from it, the last thing I need is more stress heaped on me. We're suffering here in America.

I see that I can upload photo proof here which is great compared to trustpil0t.

After being a verified seller with 100% perfect feedback for over a year, I was banned by flippa.

The reason given was incorrect. When faced with this information, Flippa came up with new reason and tried to make me look shady INSTEAD of apologizing.

So in the midst of a very scary Pandemic where the whole world is incredibly stressed, Flippa creates strife instead of appreciating the FEW honest sellers like me on their platform.

Update more shortly.

flippa not deleting classified listings even those which arent listed in the first place. A domain wasnt even listed on flippa and was pending verification, they didnt publish it, but when you delete the domain, it creates a page saying, classified cancelled.
Its hypocrasy! they are not allowing to delete domains
If we can give negative rating, the better.

Do not use flippa to sell your website, there are plenty of other options out there, I've had issues with flippa and their clientele since day one. Flippa then tried to bribe me to take down the reviews I left. Me being American, I took the bribe. Don't be like me, Don't take the bribe. They paid me $50 to remove my reviews so here we are again leaving another review because they went against their word. Flippa is fake, and full of A**holes who think they're entitled to something. Flippa always decides in favor of the seller, even when the seller is obviously wrong. Flippa has given me the run around for two months making fake promises from Josh on the customer support team. Josh is rude. Don't be like Josh!

THERE ARE SCAM ARTIST ALL OVER FLIPPA< these people sell the same website and app over and over to victims and Flippa does nothing about it, Flippa didn't even refund the money I spent on a site that went bad. They told me to take it up with PayPal, such a crappy way to do business, I will be starting my own website selling business since Flippa cannot wrap their heads around such an easy task!

Flippa.com is a house of scammers who are originaly from South Asia and they are professional scammers who sell copy right violated apps and websites and they sell the same copy to hundreds of victims and they provide the apps with no source code and keystore password and Google will suspend the app or the website eventually and when you try to Lodge a dispute flippa.com will till you sorry, deal with PayPal where they will also tell you sorry, your purchase is not covered under pay pal policy. Do not buy the apps or websites as these south Asian sellers stole a copy and illegally distribute it and Google will suspend it.

I was linking to my website for sale on Flippa and asking people to go there to see the details and maybe make an offer. Then someone I sent there via a link told me he was not allowed to read much about my site unless he opened an account, which he was reluctant to do. I am sure a lot of visitors (likely the vast majority) don't want to open an account to simply look. I would not do it myself if it's required.

This is a huge negative in my opinion which I am sure a lot of sellers have not thought much about or considered to be a negative. If i am paying $65 a month to list there they have no valid justification to seriously restrict the number of visitors who can look at my listing in detail.

Without an account the Flippa.com site visitor can only view short and insufficient info about the listing. When I asked their (very slow) support why the restriction all they would say is that's their policy for many years and it will not be changed and refused to answer the question about the reason why.

They are happy to take you regular fee and do nothing in order to get you buyers, because the next step of this scam is to pull more money out of you to get your listing "promoted". Classic ripoff. They should be shut down for good, but hopefully they'll just go out of business eventually when enough people realize what a joke this service is.
