Flixtrain

first times travelling with flixtrain went okay, until the last trip. after waiting 10 mins we got a message that the train would be approx. 20 min late, every 5 minutes, 5 minutes or more would be added up to this. Essentially the time changed to 80 minutes delay and a few moments later we got a message that the train was cancelled and we had to take a different train, we didn't even get a distinctive reason of why it was cancelled. We had to pay 200 eu upfront for 2 tickets, which I get a lot of people would not have been able to afford! We also immediately sent our receipts to them but we still haven't heard anything of them back. It's very unfortunate because this could've been the type of transport i would've taken all the time to berlin, but I'm really not feeling like taking this anymore.

Absolute garbage! The train was initially 70 minutes late. After more than an hour of waiting at Berlin Hbf I received an SMS on my phone saying that the train was simply CANCELED and that I was now on my own with a link to ask for a refund (being only their contact page). I had to jump into what ever Deutsche Bahn ICE I could find at that time and pay 117 Euro upfront. The ICE was loaded with everyone from the cancelled flixtrain ride, so essentially I sat on the floor for 5 hours and paid 117 euro for it. THANKS FLIXTRAIN.

Do yourself a favour and don't book with these morons.

Starting with very disorganised and unclear seating arrangements (and no attendants in sight at the start of the journey), it was difficult as a tourist to understand where one is allowed to sit and not (having heard of exorbitant fines dished out to unknowing tourists in Germany that don't know the rules).
The journey was then accompanied by a bunch of kids with a bluetooth speaker that don't seem to realise that wagons are shared with other passengers. Staff also seemed missing with the silencing process.

The worst company ever, they sell so many tickets so that I had to sit on the ground for 3 hours, extremely cold, no electricity, no wifi, no food! I just had the worst trip of my entire life, noway I am booking again.

The rate is great and the train did not have a lot of stops between D眉sseldorf and Berlin Hauptbahnhof.

Train cars are old and dirty.

Toilets on board are very very very dirty. They are simply disgusting.

The trip with FlixTrain was a total disaster especially after having very positive image on company's services provided on FlixBus. No internet (I pre-checked FlixBus web-page in advance to make sure internet would be available and I would be able to work, but there was no info or warning available). Most of the toilets out of order, disabled friendly toilet flooded door to wall (for 5-6 hour long trip). No snacks or drinks available. On my return trip even no electricity was available in the sockets next to me or nearest neighbourhood). Very high heating (perhaps still better than if there was none).

received a message stating the train was delayed for over one hour and we got the opportunity to book an alternative travel on our own and refund these costs at flixtrain. after handing in 3 claims including all paperwork they do not provide you with a single reaction. Shame on them! worst service ever.

Awful timing resulting in missed connections! As I was waiting at the Heidelberg Central Station, it was first announced that the Flix Train would be 15 minutes late, then it was updated to 20 minutes late, then to 45 minutes, and then a railway officer came and told me it was 80 minutes late. As it was cold, he suggested I should go back to the station building and wait there. The info screen in the station also showed an 80-minute delay, and the man at the info desk confirmed that. When I went back to the platform 5 minutes before the expected departure time, it turned out the train had already left – it had somehow and suddenly "made up" for 13 minutes of its delay.

I wish I could give this 0 stars because I definitely would!

Our train has been delayed over four hours and we just got an announcement saying that the train will be delayed indefinitely! What does that even mean?!

We also paid extra to take our bikes on board which is not possible apparently! So here we are just waiting for a train we are not sure is even coming after waiting in the freezing cold since 8:20 this morning and it鈥檚 now noon

What a joke of a service. I don鈥檛 recommend and will never buy a ticket from this company again!

It was absolutely horrible. 45 minutes late, toilets closed, no food for a 6 and a half hour trip, the windows dont even open. It was the worst trip ever.

I didn't get to review the interior of the train because I never got the chance. My FLIX train changed tracks without warning and we missed it. The overhead sign in Kassel said it would arrive on "TRACK 2". The Wagenreilhungsplan poster said FLIX used Track 2. The information attendant confirmed Track 2. We saw a FLIX train arrive late on Track One, but without signs on the train (Like an ICE would have) we had no clue where it was going. This was probably our train, but we had no way of knowing this. To get a refund FLIX asks for sworn statements and proof you didn't ride the train, but even after you provide all they ask for they will say "no". I promised FLIX I would do a chargeback to my credit card and advise everyone I can to avoid FLIXTRAIN.

Flix Train offers a train service that is way behind on any other European Railservice i have used over the year.

Our trip from Hamburg to Dusseldorf started with a 85 minute delay in Hamburg. 85 minutes. That is a long time, especially when there is no counter to be found to ask for assistance and they don't even offer a cup of coffee or anything.

In the train, it gets worse. We paid for a reserved seat in the first 2 wagons, but sincs there isn't anyone who tells that to the other passengers, all seats are taken and you have to tell other people to get off your seat, causing heated discussions and other unpleasant situations.

The comfort of the seating is worse than a wooden stool (it is actually a sleep wagon train, but the middle bunk bed is now in use as the back of your seat)..

The 'on board bistro' is just a small kiosk with chairs one wouldnt even put in snackbar and the cola we bought was actually expiring this month.. The 'menu' consists of a few nuts, some crisps, a chocolate bar and some drinks. That's about it. I honestly don't understand how anyone came up with the word bistro for this.. A refreshment machine would be better than this hole in the wall..

Even for the price paid (55 euro for a return trip) its bad. DB costs 2 times that price, but trust me if i say that it is worth paying 3 times the price to avoid this piece of scrap metal on wheels..

One more thing. The 2 ticket control guys are even worse than all the things i described above. They are very unfriendly and when you want to pass them, they tell YOU to wait in the cabin so they can pass. That's not how it works.

I saw them writing out a ticket to a person who didn't buy one and you could see in their face they were enjoying that. Terrible.

I've read the poor reviews before I booked a ticket, so I expected poor service with high chance of delay or even cancellation.
However on my trip from Berlin to Cologne, everything went smooth.
Departed on time, arrived just 5 minutes late. Staff was very friendly.
The older train-compartments Flixtrain uses for this trip are more spacious than the modern ones and have more legroom. Interior was clean.
Air-conditioning was not working in all compartments, but you could open the windows, so that was not a problem.
The only downsides:
– passengers were rushing to board the train, not knowing in which compartment the unassigned seats were located
– WiFi was not working (announced by the staff)
– No power sockets (only in the toilet).
– On my trip there were announcements, but only in German.

I had a very similar experience as the person in the review below me. My train was cancelled from Berlin via text message (written in German which I don't speak) at 22.35 the night before. I was due to leave my hotel at 5.30 to get the train so I had taken an early night and didn't get the message and translate it until the morning. At this point I called them, was on hold for ages then told I had to get to Hannover Messe Laatzen which was over 2.5 hours away to pick up an alternative train. When I got off the phone to check all trains to this station were fully booked! I ended up buying a ticket with a different train company on the day of travel which as you can imagine was very expensive.
I complained straight away to Flixtrain, I followed that complaint up a week later and 3 weeks on I have heard nothing from them! No apology or refund. Not even for my original ticket let alone the extra 拢126 out of pocket I am for the second ticket I had to buy.
I think it is appalling customer service. Do not use this company. They are cheap but as far as my experience goes you get nothing but stress for your money! I hope this stops someone else having a similar experience.

Very disappointing.

First the departure point of the train changed a week or so before, to a different station in Berlin, which was much less convenient.

So we headed there, and just as we arrived ready to board the train, I received a text message saying the train would not be leaving from that station either, and that we had to get to the Hauptbahnhof ourselves to get the train from there.

And then on arriving at that station, the train was not at the advertised platform at all but was departing from a completely different platform.

And then it finally departed an hour late.

The issue I have here is communication. Flixtrain must have known about the delays and changes much sooner than they told us. For example, they sent the departure time as 1458 by SMS at 1430, but at that point even the Deutsche Bahn website was saying it was going to be leaving at 1538.

This level of communication is very poor and needs to be improved. I won't be traveling with Flixtrain again because of this.

Worst experience ever with this company. Train from Cologne to Hamburg had 4-5 hours of delay. They were supposed to reimburse 50%. But nothing received. Not at all recommended.

I will never use again Flixtrain or Flixbus.

The train got delayed one hour, after waiting that hour I found out over the internet that the train got cancelled (and I wasnt even informed about it). During the wait I tried calling the customer service and left me waiting for half an hour to get connected, so I hung up. At the end I just bought a ticket from DB because I wasnt willing to deal with the crappy service from Flixtrain anymore. NEVER AGAIN
