As an independent publisher I wear a lot of hats and my core skill is writing. I prefer to hire professionals for all non writing related publishing tasks. When looking for affordable copywriting services, I saw Flocksy offered it and decided to give them a try.

I received nothing less than amazing copy on all of my requests. I wasn't sure if book blurbs was something they could do but they more than delivered on all twenty book blurbs submitted to them with amazing speed (sometimes less than an hour after I sent in the request).

I paid $420 on the Team plan. Best Page Forward would have cost me $4388 for twenty book blurbs. I want to read my own books again after reading their copy. Additional copywriting done for business included my newsletter and website. Overall I am very glad I was able to find a company that has great copywriters and is affordable for small business owners.

Flocksy looks like a terrible deal for creative professionals. I am a graphic designer and began to go through their on-boarding process. They asked for my price (total flat fee) for multiple projects as well as my timeline for each project. They gave an example of each project. On the following page, they then provided their "System Averages for These Categories". This is where it went downhill. The most egregious example was a 221-page branding guide. Yes, 221 pages. I gave my price as $600 with a 20-hour timeline. Their System Average stated their price as $25 with a 2-hour timeline. In what world does a designer complete a 221-page document in 2 hours? I saw from a previous review that Flocksy is explaining it away as the hourly price and queue time, but that's not what it looks like, as they show my total price (in red) right next to their price (in green). I'd love to post a screenshot but can't here. Another example is a tri-fold brochure, my price was $240/8 hours, theirs was $20/2 hours. And then they wanted me to complete multiple dummy projects to prove my skills: redesign a 9-page branding guide, create an infographic, design 4 social media posts, design 1-3 custom logos, and design an 8.5×11 flyer. I have an online portfolio available and would be willing to do one dummy project, or technical software tests, but not 8-10 separate dummy projects. I don't see how qualified US-based creatives could work for these ridiculous wages with unrealistic timelines.

I went through an online application process as a video editor, that had sort of an interview aspect to it. They gave an editing example then asked that I estimate how much time it would take me to do a similar edit and what I would charge for it.

I estimated 2 hours (which was not even close to realistic, but I was curious to see what their response was), and $50 total cost, so $25 an hour (I said $80 / $40 in other reviews, then looked at my screenshots). After submitting that info the next screen said that the average time for their freelancers to do that type of edit was 12 hours and the average TOTAL PAY for those 12 hours was $30! That's $2.50 an hour!

Their job posting said freelancers typically average between $20 – $40 an hour! What a JOKE! I also saw something referencing that they are a USA company. Well they might be based in the US, but they are obviously catering to freelancers from other countries where you can actually pay your rent on $2.50 an hour. I don't know anywhere in the U.S. where you can afford to live on $2.50 an hour.

Needless to say I did not pursue a job with Flocksy any further than that.

I am a small business owner that is spread thinner than thin. There are not enough hours in the day for me to do all my own marketing, copywriting, graphics etc. And I am not at a point that I can afford to hire full time staff. My Flocksy team is a perfect partnership. I have found writers that "get" me and my ideal customer. They are fast, easy and all around amazing. Highly recommend.

After making the move over from another similar service, I can honestly say that Flocksy is a much more useful tool. I love the fact that they do more than just design! I have used their website development tools, copywriting tools and design work for graphics and custom illustration.
I like being able to work with a team of different people for various projects. As someone with a few different businesses, it is nice to be able to set up all of your fonts, logos, and info into a bucket that is reusable as well.

Flocksy is an excellent investment, especially if you're a small agency trying to compete with the big boys. It gives your company that marketing edge you need to compete and feel confident in being able to deliver quality products.
The quality of the work is amazingly superb and the turn around time is equally amazing. I have used them to create everything from a 60-minute promo video, brand Icon, logos and stationery, infographics, Facebook ad creation, and email marketing.
I couldn't be anymore happier with their service and the project manager is very responsive and willing to get on the phone when needed. If you're not using Flocksy for your creative needs your losing money!

Flocksy is a great service for start-ups who don't have an in-house design team but need to deliver content, design and development assets continuously, and quickly. The fast turnaround, and a dedicated PM beats the cost, and time of a typical agency.

It's a great experience working with the Flocksy team. Prior working with Flocksy, I've been hiring freelancers and it was a total nightmare dealing with these freelancers in terms of getting the job done on time nor according to my requirements.

Great platform. Having an active project manager, based in the US, is a great benefit that their competitors don't offer. We made the switch from Penji to Flocksy, for just that added benefit. We are finding that the projects are much more fluid, and are completed faster.
