I have been a user of this site for several years! I recently got notice that they froze my account because I needed to remove something. I responded with a polite letter asking how I do so with my account frozen and if they would let me in and tell me what to change I would gladly do so. I then got a letter back saying they would need me to log into my FROZEN account to fix it! HOW IN THE WORLD DO I LOG INTO THE ACCOUNT THEY FROZE TO UNFREEZE IT?!?!?!?!?!? So I again asked them that question where they told me to log in! I tried to log in and NOW IT SAYS THAT I NEVER HAD AN ACCOUNT TO BEGIN WITH!!!!! How did they have my address if I never had an account? I had an account starting back in early to mid 2000's!! I have used them happily up until now and I will no longer be using them nor will I recommend them to anyone! This is how they treat their loyal fans?!?!? Ugggh!!!!

Very surprised to know that the site is accused of malware distribution. I personally apply freewebs very often, as those free site templates they provide are quite good.

I pay for this site, but for the last 8 months, I haven't been able to access my own personal site, however every month they charge me the the monthly fee. I have sent dozens of emails, and still almost nine months later, the so called glitch still isn't fixed!
I'm an author in three different genres and if I were to cancel the subscription, then all my data would be lost. So out of fear I continue to pay the monthly fee hoping against all hope that it will get fixed, I can down load all my stuff, then tell them to go F themselves!
I can't get into the site, so the revamps that have been done to both my series aren't corrected, and every time I email them it's something new.

If anyone out there knows how to copy a web site, please contact me. If I could just retrieve my data I would be fine, cancel the stupid thing, but I would still have my stuff.

I've had my site on freewebs.com for years. No malware or viruses have been reported to me since I've been working on it over the last couple of years. I think it depends on what one is looking for on freewebs. Doesn't seem to have a scanning – the – client – protocol to keep out spammers. That is all I have to say on that matter. Take care.

The owner blamed me for something i didn't do and banned me for no reason. They also used offencive languge. "$#*! OFF TRYING TO RUIN MY CONTEST" he said this after i tried to enter for the first time. I feel this website should be permently shut down.

It seems by the very nature of this site that it's great for both legitimate and illegitimate uses. In all likeliness any ads or malware associated with this site are from people using freewebs to create a malicious site. I use at least one website that seems to be built upon freewebs that I highly doubt has any malicious content (not child friendly but then it's a college group).

Freewebs itself is safe! The problems that people speak(err, type) of are only on a few websites.

The reason being because people are allowed to put what they want on their website, hence it is not an issue on the whole website, only on those breaking the rules.
