I did not even want to leave a 1* review the "owner" Matt, currently been disqualified from being a company director, is a con man.

2 weeks have passed since doing a part exchange on a vehicle and he is not not contactable, we have found a lot dodgy welding on the vehicle after it had been in an accident.

The day of collection we demanded for the car to be MOT'd before it come to us.. miraculously he manage to get this done with in 2 hours … by his mate on a back hander no doubt.

This man has invited us into his home and conned us, buttered us up with stories about his wife being an alcoholic and leaving him.

I don't know how he sleeps at night.

Do not buy a car from him.

WARNING: DO NOT BUY FROM THIS GARAGE.

I am a private buyer and bought a car from them over a month ago and they – specifically Matt who seems to own the garage – have refused to refund my deposit despite successfully completing the sale, and despite over 10 chasers vial email, phone and through various websites.

I was already wary having seen the review above/below saying that they do exactly that, and the fact that the other positive review carry all the hallmarks of fake reviews.

Matt assured me the other buyer was crazy, providing a story about not being able to refund them due to a family illness… which he has now repeated to me using a different family member – sorry if this is true Matt but you can see it is a clear pattern of behaviour. He was adamant at taking a deposit before we could proceed. Reluctantly I agreed to this, but now obviously regret it, as he refuses to refund the deposit and is hanging up on me or ignoring my calls.

I am now seeking a refund via Trading Standards (who already have complaints against the business) and the Small Claims Court, and am also seeking to return the vehicle under the Consumer Goods Act.

Matt if you鈥檙e reading, the car is fine and I鈥檓 happy to avoid the above actions, delete this review and accept the deposit (plus missing history of the car)… I just want my money back and the history please!!

Do not buy a car from this garage. The owner Matt is a total untrustworthy liar!
We bought a car from him and on the way home we heard very strange loud scraping noise coming from underneath the car, bearing in mind we had a 2 hour drive back home. We took it into our local reputable Audi dealer who traced the fault to a damaged undertray underneath the passenger side which was scraping along the road.
I phoned G1 Garage to inform 鈥楳att鈥?the owner about the findings and he even admitted that he had damaged the underside of the car whilst driving it out of the showroom before we picked it up!
He told us to have the car repaired and send him the bill totalling 拢95.08. This was over 5 weeks ago and he still hasn鈥檛 repayed us.
He promised to send us a spare key for the car which he has since declared that he鈥檚 lost it but would pay for a new key. He owes us 拢341 in total.
Oh and he promised to have the damaged alloys diamond cut repaired which he turned around couple days before picking up the car and said the machine used for diamond cut alloy repair had broken!!

He is avoiding our phone calls texts and emails. I鈥檝e received one phonecall from him promising to post a cheque the next day which never happened.
I鈥檝e had several excuses…….personal problems, snowed in!!!

This guy has no intentions of paying us what we鈥檙e owed and we are in the process of reporting him to trading standards and the AA which the garage is a member of.

All in all I will not let this matter rest until we鈥檝e been repayed in full.

Update:

Received a threatening phone call from Matt the garage owner this morning, threatened to kill me if I approached the G1 garage for my refund!
Called me all names including a racist remark…..Welsh c..nt!!!!
Hoped all sorts of bad things would happen to my family!!
Not a very professional businessman at all.

This is my story of dealing with G1 Garage. Me and my brother travelled a long way to see a car at this garage, test drive the car and were happy with it, We asked about the car history and were told he has had 1 owner from new, a local lad as he called it. We asked him (Mathew) if we can see the documents for the car so we can run a quick check ourselves as this was for a car valued at 拢40k so we were trying to make sure we know all about it. He told us he does not have the V5C docs for the car as its with DVLA to be updated with new reg number. We then asked if he can give us the reg number of the car, the original reg number or the private number. He told us he does not know any of them but can find out the next working day from the previous owner. We believed him as we would never guessed a dealer who is also an AA trusted dealer would lie about the facts on a car. He agreed to mot the car and fix a issue with the door and to do that he asked for 拢1000 deposit. We agreed and paid the the deposit, Called the next working day and asked for the reg number. He gave us the reg number and we run a online check on the car history and found out it had 3 previous owners and we would have been the 4th. This was a bland lie and we called him and asked for the deposit back. He (the manager) told us the car if functioning fine and it doesn't matter how many previous owner it had before and for that he refused to pay the deposit back. This is truly not true as a 拢40K car with 3 previous owner than 1 changes the value of the car greatly. We tried to explain this to him but he cut off the phone and blocked our number, We sent email and asked him to talk to us but no reply, we ended up reporting him to AA and Trading standard and are awaiting a verdict before taking legal action.
I know we made a mistake by trusting a dealer but you never guess this sort of practices would be done by a dealer.
Be very very careful dealing with this garage, they would plainly lie and mislead customers to sell car or take deposit. never pay them any deposit and have car checked by a trusted mechanic. We found them to be very unprofessional and untrustworthy, they do not care about customer and just want to offload their cars.
