On the 26th I believe, while on my computer a full screen came up that I had a virus. there was a number to call to fix it. I called and he talked and talked and I didn't even know what he was saying as I am hard of hearing and anyone with an accent, I do not understand. He talked and talked, and let on he was doing something to my computer while talking. Of course the sign was gone and I was told not to turn it off or lose data. They got into my computer and it had to be an hour and a half that a girl came on and moved things around. Today I can't see any difference in my computer that was supposed to be fixed. I am also missing my CenturyLink icon that I use to get on my e-mail. They must have thought I was a bigger fool as they wanted $649.99 from me and I was to send it right away. I could not send it then and am so glad as I read the complaints of others that was taken advantage of. I will not send them a dime. A girl called me on Monday and wondered where my check was. I told her I could not send it till after the 1st. She was alright with that. But I am so glad that I looked them up on their e-mail address and read the other complaints. Just like mine.

I was looking for a receipe on the computer and al of suddne the screen froze and it was, " screaming do not turn off your computer you will lose all you data:, over and over again. So I called the number given and they said they were from Microsoft and I had a Gateway virus that included RookPamela A Fultskit Identity theft, a porn virus and another virus. I do not explore porno, so I don't know what happen but they fixed the computer for $1500.00. They only problem is I am a senior citizen and a student and do not have the money. I will have to get a loan unless this resolved some other way.

Microsoft warning appeared on my laptop. I called the number . They talked in circles and gained access to my computer. Told me I had a TROJAN VIRUS caused by being on a porn sight. They told me I needed it fixed immediately . They wanted me to send them $199.99. Wanted to send FED EX to pick it up . If not at home at work. When I refused they insisted on a money order and me calling them with the money order #. After hanging up , I looked them up for legitimacy – And there it was SCAMMMED

My mom was on her laptop yesterday and a message popped up saying that she had a virus, that she should call "Microsoft" immediately to fix the problem. She proceeded to call the number that the message said to call (which was NOT Microsoft). "Microsoft" transferred her to company claiming to be "Cysco" and "Cysco" transferred her to Geek Backer. Geek Backer then gained remote access onto her computer, INSTALLED some software, and claimed to have fixed the "virus." They said it was fine if she mailed them a check (they charged her $199.99) and told her to mail it to:

10620 Southern Highlands Pkwy
Ste 110-233
Las Vegas, NV 89141

When she told me all this, I had a bad feeling, like she had gotten scammed. SO, I called the real Microsoft customer service phone number, and they confirmed IT IS INDEED A SCAM. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

A pop up box on my computer said I had been infected by a virus and needed to call a number that was Microsoft support. My computer functions were blocked and the recording said that if I closed my computer stored information would be lost. I called the number and gave them access to my computer to fix the problem. Was then told that they needed to transfer me to another person to complete the repair but it would cost me $200 – $250. When I complained about the cost they said there was a senior discount and I would pay $149.99. I agreed to the charge. The bells and pop up disappeared and my computer was back to the original state. I was to mail a check to an address that they put on my computer. The address is 10620 Southern Highlands Parkway, Ste 110-233, Las Vegas, NV 89141 They assigned me an account number which is 16445. I haven't mailed the check so haven't lost any money. Please let others know not to fall for this scam. Thanks

Call from someone identifying as from Microsoft called me to say my computer had viruses and was in danger of identity theft. "they" would fix it for $259. "fixed" (not) by third party Geekbackers. two days later, McAfee called to say there were "security" issues. they checked and found that not only was the computer not "fixed" but possible more problems than before the fix. several "suspicious programs" entered on computer within same and next day. I was able to stop payment just in time—it was being processed.
