Site jabber has repeatedly destroyed my honest review of this despicable Scam company, Geico. From Warren Buffet's con artist promotions of Geico to the fact that 30% of their customers have or are trying to find another insurer. Racist company. Sexist company. Liars, Cheaters and Thieves. If they can throw you under the bus, they will.

I was very please with their handling of my insurance needs. Someone just totaled my car ( I had only the minimum insurance for this car) and they have followed up and help me with the paperwork. I don't like their automated system: it drives me nuts, but the people who work there are good and caring. Of course, I don't get a replacement or anything because I didn't have a full coverage, but I still had their support with paperwork etc. Another thing that GEIGO did is to ask me every month if I can make the payment, otherwise they'll cover for me. Fortunately, I needed that extension and will never need, but others may and this is a kind way to treat your customers.

Their deceptive ad says you save 15% if you spend 15 minutes on the phone with Geico.
To make long story short some how their adjusters at the time of processing your claim will nickel and dime you to death., Their deceptive practices should be investigated by NYS attorney General.
They were trying to force or process this accident through my own auto insurance policy whereas the person who decided to back up into my driver's side should be 100% at fault. No fault of mine because I was just standing in the parking lot.
You ask why would they do that; the reason is that once an accident is processed through your policy then the insurance company's underwriting department will have a reason to increase your premium. They have turned this claim into a nightmare with the number of phone calls they have made. I plan to file legal complaint against Geico with NYS Insurance Commissioner.

I received someone's auto insurance card in the mail and I don't drive. Called and email Geico, they said they couldn't help me the claimant has to change address. They need to verify if people live at the address before signing them up. I'm not sure if it was changed because Geico protects the customers, but who is here to protect me. They made me feel like I was the one in the wrong and it''s not right. I shouldn't have to go through this at all.

I have seriously gone through hell and back with Geico, my "trusty" insurance company these past few weeks. My truck was stolen from the parking lot of Academy Sports and Outdoors while I was inside the store with my family. The police were called, video footage reviewed, the police were able to find my truck by the end of the day….completely destroyed, empty, taken apart. After our initial cries of anger, frustration and impotence, I called my insurance company, Geico. They followed up with the police and said they would need to make their own investigation, perfect, no problem. Now let me specify that i switched to Geico after they offered me a few hundred dollar difference in policy payments if I got with them. Saving money? Great! I applied the full coverage, premium policy. I take care of my vehicles, so nothing but the best policy, better safe than sorry. Now around the time I switched I had gotten my truck custom fixed. I added brand new rims and wheels worth around $3.5k, new radio worth around $900 and custom leather interiors costing me about $2.5k. When I got the policy I made the agents EXPLICITLY aware of the truck details and changes and that I NEEDED everything covered under the policy. They assured me, all of my needs would be met, I wouldn't be sorry and everything would be covered…..WRONG! Because two weeks ago after my truck was stolen and ripped apart and made the claim to Geico I was thrown into a whirlwind. I first talked to the agent Marvin Miller, who asked ME to go to the tow truck yard and take pictures of my truck MYSELF, because they were concerned about the pandemic. I guess I'm inmune to it, since they seemed pretty unconcerned about me going out and doing the job THEY are payed to do, but I digress. I wanted to get this over with and so, I went, got the photos, sent them. Now I wait. A few days later I got a call from agent Daniel Schmidt, who asked me to send him pictures of the custom parts of my truck, so they'd be able to assess the value. So I did. Schmidt told me although THEY valued my pieces at over $5.3k, they could ONLY offer me a whopping…….. $259 for my custom items. My truck was simply worth a combined total of $5,392 to them! Schmidt then informed me that although my truck was worth much more than that, OBVIOUSLY, they figured it would be less expensive FOR THEM to just consider my truck a totaled loss. Schmidt also informed me that Geico did NOT want to pay for ANYTHING custom made and even went as far as to berate me and say that he did not understand why anyone would invest that much money in custom parts for "just a truck". He informed me that vehicle parts depreciate in value with the years, which I completely understand, except my parts aren't 10 years old, they are 2 years old! There is NO WAY 95% of the value of my pieces are deprecated in value in ONLY TWO YEARS!! He also told me that if I wanted to increase MAYBE some $50 more to their offer, I needed to dig up my custom parts receipts, which isn't really worth even looking for, for a mere $50! I vehemently REFUSED to be stepped on and thrown some chump change when I have spent YEARS paying a policy that is supposed to cover EVERYTHING! Because I refused to accept their demands, they told me, I had to return the rental car I had gotten, which by then I had only had for a whopping total of less than 24 hours! When I told them that was RIDICULOUS, because my policy says I am covered for THRITY FULL DAYS, Schmidt told me, since I refused to accept their $259 offer for my custom pieces, I had no reason to keep a rental. They also informed me that they did not want to continue paying for the wreck storage and needed to pick up my truck. I asked them how was I supposed to do that if my truck had no wheels and lord knows what else could be messed up from the inside, since no mechanic had yet to see it, I didn't deem that as safe. I was told that I would be allowed to BORROW a set of spare tires to take my truck home and I guess dump it in my driveway, then they would take the spares as well. I was just BEYONG PERPLEXED! After much complaining I was contacted with agent Ashanti Williams, who told me she couldn't do anything to help me other than EXTEND MY RENTAL FOR TWO MORE DAYS! So after paying for this insurance I am left with a two day rental, a hollow truck, a claim in my record and $259 check for my custom pieces worth more than $5.3k. I have to be content with that Geico claims to be #1 in CUSTOMER SATISFACTION, but from what I've seen they are #1 in screwing over their customers! At the end of the day, I saved an extra few hundred dollars a year in payments, but in the long run this was a complete and total rip off. Not having insurance would've cost me less to be completely honest. At this point I don't know what else to do except place a complain against Geico for their HORRENDOUS treatment of their customers ESPECIALLY THEIR PREMIUM FULL COVERAGE customers.

The fact that most American could not work during this Covid 19 disaster causing extreme financial damage to their house hold, Geico stepped up and is helping reduce our policy's with a 15 % discount. Geico, Am Bankers flood will deny your broken flooded home. They require you prove 2 miles around flooded, ignore sewage coming up into the hone, eyeball and ignore structure damages. Do not waste your money and faith. Yep.. their inspectors eyeball 40 plus years.

WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND GEICO! Geico service is horrible! I've hit deer at night on my 6 months old 7000 miles car. Geico refused to pay for OEM replacement parts and offered reconditioned and used parts instead. The difference for all parts was $186… After several calls they stated this is in my police that they can do this. Nobody told me this when I have signed for Geico. I did call two other insurance companies and both told me that for current year car with less than 12000 mile they will put OEM parts with no additional charge. Obviously, I will cancel all my policies (auto, boat, ambrella, business) with Geico. Absolutely the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. Read every letter in the policy if you brave enough to sign for geico insurance. You will save small $$ in premium but loose multiple time more if you will need to file a claim. Do yourself a favor and don't get geico.

Insurance, we all need it. I never could really afford Geico, but I get a discount because I'm a Navy Federal customer. It is by far the best insurance company I've been with, that I can recall. Glad to be a customer.

Geico set up my claim sent an adjuster out deemed my vehicle as total loss and sent documentation of incident only to back out and say sorry this isn't covered with your policy. They said it falls under mechanical and the supervisor said it falls under "negligence" and thats not something I have with my policy.

Backround of situation: I received an oil change that seemed to mess up everything in my car

I stated to them this is my first lease vehicle and I already have full coverage I didn't know I had to have an additional coverage for mechanical . Nicholaus stated thats something that was asked when I first added vehicle . And theres nothing he can do and its up to me with what I want to do with the car . then switches me to customer service to see if I can hear the pre recorded conversation for them to only tell me it doesn't go that far back. I asked to speak to a supervisor for the unfairness of this whole process and the only thing he can offer me is an apology. It also took me a week ! To speak to a supervisor. Life lesson I been with geico for about 6 years and this was the first and last sign I needed to see. Everyone gives you different information and they are not helpful only thing they know how to do is apologize for their mistakes. Now my car is listed as a total loss vehicle with noone to cover it . Whats the point of having insurance. I also called corporate and haven't heard back . They know how to promote and sell their insurance very good but if something was to actually happen be very careful what coverage you choose because they dont honor their commitment to the customer

I have the unfortunate circumstance of living on a curve that is difficult for drivers to navigate. I have had damage done to my property numerous times by drivers with different insurance companies. Of all the companies I have had to file a claim against, Geico has been the most understanding and have followed through with what they said they would do. They have been consistent as well. Never once have they unreasonably questioned the cost to repair damages to my property. This is extremely important for you when choosing a company to represent and protect you if you are responsible for damaging or injuring another person or their property. If your insurance company doesn't treat the victim of your accident fairly, that victim, will most likely end up filling a lawsuit against you to recover damages. They don't need to deal with your insurance company when you are the one at fault because you are the one responsible for the damages, not your insurance company. You don't want your insurance company messing with your financial stability because they want to make money for their shareholders. You buy insurance to stay out of court. If the company is more concerned about their shareholders then they are with protecting you and you wind up in court, your insurance company is not fulfilling their contract with you. In my experience as a claimant with Geico, they are doing what they have contracted to do. As with any purchase of an insurance policy, understand what you are buying, what you are not buying, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Also remember that different market places have different people working in them and a national company may be better at serving customers and claimants based on the caliber of the employees working in those areas than others. Do your research carefully because your understanding of insurance is something that can make a difficult time easier to navigate or make your life miserable.

I would like to leave here my bad experience with this insurance company that informs that it has 97% approval of its clients.
I have been a Geico customer since 2016. I have no history of accidents, no traffic violations or even parking. I have never used my Geico insurance for all these years.
In January of this year I needed to travel from California to where I live to solve some personal problems in the states of New York and Connecticut.
On March 1, another vehicle collided in front of my car, which was parked on the street in front of the house of a friend I visited. This vehicle left the scene of the accident without leaving your data as a phone or car plate.
I looked for a body shop to do the repair of my car. When I went through the data on my policy, I was informed that my car had no collision insurance which I disagreed with at that point and showed all the information on my policy.
I have in my policy the following insurance coverages: Comprehensive, Collision, Emergency Road Service, rental Reimbursement, Bodily Injury Liability, Property Damage Liability.
After much insistence on my part I was able to open a claim to make a cost estimate and request a rental car for use. At this point I had a very unpleasant surprise on the part of this company. I was informed that my case was under investigation and that I should wait for the authorizations for car repair, car rental authorization and any other procedure to be done or paid for by Geico.
The claim was opened on March 6. Today, March 16, I have no response from Geico. I have no car, I can not go back to my home in California and the answer I have is that I have to wait. Not to mention the 2 surveys done, interviews over the phone, interviews in person, calls and more calls.
Besides these problems the registration of my car sells on April 1st. From this date on, I can no longer use my car.
Therefore, it is registered here and a council to all who come to contract insurance of this company called Geico. Look for a company that respects the insured, do not believe in false promises or misleading advertisements. Geico does not have this percentage of approval, its service is horrible, its support is terrible, the process is bureaucratic and there is no respect for the client.
Unfortunately what I have left at this moment is to wait and take on all this damage that Geico is giving me. One more detail, the collision in my car affected front bumper, headlight, fog lights and a small dent in the fender. It was no major collision.
Before buying Ceico insurance, think, think and think again. There are other company options that will give you more confidence and respect.

I was misled I was frauded under the conditions that they were able to start a policy for me if I paid the $49 they said I owed and then they would take the remaining $89 and some odd cents out on the 22nd but then I was told after I paid the $49 that they could not start a policy for me so therefore I was told that it was because of accidents

WARNING !!! Do not let them issue any check, do not sign anything giving authorization to any shop to sign a 2 party check. "Inside deals," A 2 party check is Lien holder and me, The lien hold under all circumstances should sign any insurance check, and mail to customer. Once Geico, reissues check to shop before work is done, you are stuck if the shop does nothing. They "Geico's" position, no liability or recourse it's on you. So if they paid a shop & the shop closed, your stuck. I have never heard of paying for services in advance, before work is done. Lack of transparency, Integrity, huge potential for Fraud., insurance prices go up. If you take your car to auto repair do you pay for it before the work is done? No !

Geico refuses to refund me $1045.00 after claiming to have sent a check multiple times . I cancelled my homeowners insurance policy prior to taking effect back on September 4, 2018 after having an issue with Geico regarding my car insurance policy. I was told that I was going to receive a check within 10-15 days which I never received. I called Geico in early November and I was told that they will cancel the original check and reissue payment and that I should receive the new check within 10-15 days. I called Geico again in mid November and multiple times since regarding my refund and I was told to wait a few more days. I called again today January 16, 2019 and they're claiming that a new check will be issued and that I should get it soon . I requested Geico make a direct deposit into my account because I don't believe they're sending the check. I was told that they can't direct deposit to my account . I then asked for a certified mail delivery of the new check and I was told that someone will contact me within 48 hours to see if it could be done . I filed a complaint with with the BBB regarding my vehicle insurance back in September 2018 and I I believe someone is retaliating by not issuing the check . My Address, Name, ZIP Code has not changed and my mail is delivered 6 days a week by the US post office. There's no excuse to have to wait months for a refund check .

I have had Geico insurance for a couple years, never needing to file a claim. This means I never actually utilized my car insurance. My car died about a week ago. It was unexpected. I was at work when it happened, so I was a bit worried. I began going research for the lowest price to tow my car. After hours of reading, and comparison, I finally checked towing services with Geico. I was a bit surprised to know that the cost was completely reasonable. I was also to adjust the coverage for my vehicle then and there. Geico turned a a soon-to-be chaotic day into a calm-cause-cars-taken-care-of day

My wife, Bebe, and I have had Geico auto for many years. My wife called a couple of years ago to see what this umbrella policy was that we have been paying. The Geico represenative told her it was something we needed and covered extra on our home. However my wife is 71 yrs. old and in constant pain. This umbrella policy covered boat liability of $300. She wasn't told that it covered homeowners which we already have with another company. Also, we don't own a boat or ever ride in boats so why would we get that? We've never owned a boat. It also covered $300,000 homeowner's liability. We live in a mobile home and already had a homeowner's policy. We finally wised up and cancelled the umbrella policy. We feel like geico took advantage of two elderly people.

They have have been over charging me for the last 6 years up to $1300 per year, so check to see if there overcharging you..I went with Liberty Mutual Insurance they have saved me over $1300.00 a year….Shame on you Geico shame on you

and they are charging double use

Geico is an amazing insurance company! I had another Insurance for my car and I was paying outrageous prices just for liability. I recently had to make a claim through Geico and they handled everything so well. I highly recommend getting a free quote from them to see how much you can save.

I have been with GEICO for 28 years now I am departing and the reasons is that they are not loyal to their customers. I have always paid on time and the full amount. Never have file a claim. Every six month the rate goes up $20.00 plus. All those commercials they have are an over kill. Geico claims their ads are from a separate account. I suggest they need to transfer from that account to the customer so they will stop engaging in the worst form of gamemenships to reach their own goals. Thanks for the road side service. If you want a company that is loyal to there customer GEICO is not the one. Thanks for allowing me to post this comment. Kathy

I have not had a problem with my agent but the corporation is GARBAGE. Geico gives the appearance of being a good company but once you get past the cute little mascot you see the reality. I was nearly killed in an auto wreck by a reckless driver. When I gave my recorded statement, to the corporate operator, they wouldn't listen and they could barely speak in coherent sentences. The company acts like they are on your side and will "investigate" a claim. They don't. They blindly believe bias, police reports over hard, scientific evidence. They don't have time for that. They do nothing to protect you as a loyal customer. Right when you think everything is fine, they double or triple your policy for 3 years to recoup the costs. Avoid this company like the plague.

I needed a trip and fall rider on my home business. Geico said they could not supply that which was fine. But then they said, they were strongly considering cancelling my account because even though they dont cover trip and fall rider coverage that they did not want to deal with the possibility of someone getting hurt even though they didnt cover it. I explained that I had about 20 people in my office a week. They said that they wont cover trip and fall because I might have 20,000 people coming and going. I said, come to my office. They wanted to cancel my account for asking about a rider. I cancelled the account and found someone better and cheaper. Thank you State Farm and I actually have a personal rep that Ive talked to a few times and has been more than helpful.

My son was looking to lease a vehicle, and got a quote from Gieco, paid them the premuium, and a day later they called him to say that they made a mistakle and increased his premuim $600/year !!!! he made the decission to lease the vehicle thinking he would be able to spend X amount of dollars on the insurance, and after he signed all the papers and took ownership of the vehicle, they call a day later to inform him that he is now stuck with a payment he can't afford!!!

No one to talk to, at Gieco – the worse customer service I have ever en$#*!ered… I cant belive this is legel !!!!
