On 06/23/19 I contacted this company via their website to inquire about the possibility of purchasing two kittens whose photos I had seen on their site. I received a response that promised, amongst other things: "Compared to other catteries in the market, we are more than $500 cheaper than most catteries, while still raising and providing the best Russian Blues in our society. Our goal is to bring a new life into your family in thw way of a happy, healthy kitten. We want this to be a wonderful experience for your family but if you're looking for an elegant, independent and intelligent feline, look no further than the beautiful Russian Blue. If I'm right switching to us would help you save money. I can personally assist you in transferring over $599 on a kitten each. The Joy is! Free shipping is back…but not for long." We proceeded to work out the details., including a signed Sales Contract and Health Guarantee for two female kittens named Tuksu and Martina, whose photos you can see on their website. Senada asked me to pay her $1200 via Paypal and gave me the email addresses of two individuals who turned out to be foreign accounts which Paypal would not transfer the money to. So she asked me to purchase eBay gift cards, which I did and sent her the gift card numbers. Senada had mentioned to me that the air carrier might require an electronic ventilated travel crate, and so on the day that I was expecting the shipment to take place, I received an email from them demanding that I send them a deposit in the amount of $1299 which they said would be fully refundable upon delivery of the kittens. I sent this to them via Money Gram. The following morning I received another email advising me that they could not send the kittens until they received $1300 from me for a pet insurance policy, which would also be refundable upon delivery of the kittens. At this point, I told them to cancel the transaction and send me my deposit back. (I am going to report this air carrier in a separate complaint.) I then asked Senada to pick up the kittens every day since then, but she kept saying that she did not want me to lose my deposit, which the agents at the air carrier (Blue Toucan Express) said I could only get back upon delivery of the kittens. She proposed to put up $500 if I would put up the remaining $800, which I told her I was not going to do. I then sent her an email telling her that she must have known that Blue Toucan was a scam operation from the beginning (although she had told me that she had used them many times in the past at the outset), and asked her if she got a cut of what they scammed from innocent people like me. Despite repeated emails to her and several attempts to reach her by phone, I have not been able to get back in contact with her. So I have not only lost the $1200 I paid for the 2 kittens, but also the $1299 I paid to Blue Toucan Express as a deposit for the Electronic Ventilated Travel Crate.

Charged extra

We tried to buy a Russian Blue pedigree kitten through the listed site at gemstonebluecattery.com. Was told free shipping from Tx but then got charged additional $50 for handling. Then got email that was supposed to be from the shipper Blue Toucan Express who sent an invoice asking for $1,495 for climate controlled crate and needing more money for additional vaccinations because the kitten would be in the plane for 6+ hours and may get sick. We immediately saw this as a scam and I found a similar incident on the following scam alert web site that included the exact same invoice but it was for 2 grey parrots in TX. https://www.ripoffreport.com/r…
