Advice for those looking to book a villa with this company, do not book. The pandemic has had a devastating effect on the travel industry and I do feel for all those companies involved, including this one. But how companies deal with their customers says a lot about them and their business. Unfortunately the owner of this company dealt with the situation extremely poorly. Not only did they not offer any type of refund, whether that be partial monies returned or credit notes, but they also did not offer any alternative dates. They refused to take any responsibility and insisted customers contact their travel insurance companies and claim losses that way. They did however, offer a substantial discount if you choose to re-book again later in the year. So yes you had to pay all over again !! Now I appreciate these are unprecedented times and no-one is to blame here, but the outcome should be fair and in this case Getawayvillas choose not to treat customers in a morally justified way. Rather than work with customers and help work out an agreement that benefits both parties, they decided to keep everyones money (Unless booked as part of a package holiday, then they were legally abliged to refund) I hope small companies like this can get back on their feet, I don't wish for any company to close. But I would definately be very wary of a company that handles a situation as this one has and will not ever consider booking with them in future. I would suggest booking with a reputable company that puts their customers first.
