Made a reservation with them for almost 3000 us dollars for my entire wife鈥檚 family . They first of all charged hefty cancellation fees and made the final amount I would refunded back down to 2200 dollar but wait it gets much better . Wayy back in may they said it would take 1-2 billing cycles ( not sure why soo long since air India doesn鈥檛 say they take that long on their website ) . 2 billing cycles later they say it will take 3-4 billing cycles. 4 billing cycles later they say it will take 10-12 billing cycles . 鈥?nothing we can do airline has not paid鈥?. I am not a very rich person and I desperately need this money back as it is on credit card but they are content taking their own sweet time with it and not bothering to make any amends . Obviously the last last time I am ever booking from these terrible booking agencies . Last I called them they said it may take a year . What the hell is one year ??!!! That is like taking a loan from an unwilling borrower . I have a family to feed and a lot of things I need that money for !!

Anyone booking please learn from my mistake . Even if it is a bucks extra spend it and book from someone else . I have had decent experiences with cheapoair or even just directly through the airline themselves . It is 2020, you really don鈥檛 need a middleman agent in reality .

Please please do not book from these people .

I booked my flight to Turkey the flights were canceled due to the pandemic .I having calling so many times and sending emails without reply .All I need is my refund of 1350 Cdn $. Im so fed up with you guys and after waiting for hours to talk to someone over the phone ge hangs up on me. So now I filing a claim with my credit card provider. And I will never ever book any flights with you.i regret but it was a mistake never to be repeated.

I am now filing a claim with my credit card because these people are basically refusing to issue a refund, even though the airline processed my July 2020 trip refund by mid August. A full refund at that, even though farescan attempted to give me a partial refund and stated that鈥檚 all the airline was providing. This was my first and last time booking through a third party. Farescan is nothing but a bunch of criminals giving you the run around. 鈥淥h this person processed your refund. She鈥檒l call you back when she鈥檚 back in office with an update鈥? Still waiting on that call. A damn joke.

Don't ever use this company to book anything. And make sure you read my workaround at the end of this review, it may help you too. My flight was canceled during COVID. I called to rebook a couple of days ago. First they said they couldn't find my reservation by the PNR number I had from the airline. Then somehow found my reservation and wanted to charge me $159 per person to change the date when the airline advertising price was only $59 different. The customer service rep was condescending and was getting impatient with me as I asked for a breakdown of the fare and taxes etc.. Nothing what he was saying made sense. So I asked for an email breakdown. He instead said I would have to email them! I found all of this very suspicious. So instead I called the airline, explained that when I called Farescan nothing came up with my PNR numbers for them, could they look into it and let me know the status. It was AirTransat and they transferred me to their GBS department. From there I was able to rebook directly with the airline at the price the airline advertised on their website. They said the third party should have been able to make this change for me the same! So I ended up just paying the $59 per person and saved the $200 extra I would have had to pay Farescan–probably a scam!

If I could give this company a 0 I would have. They have cheated us out if $5000. We had 4 tickets booked to Australia in December and due to Covid all international flights have been cancelled from the airline.
-Called farescan, they said I could have a refund or future credit to be used within 2 years of original purchased date. Opted for credit. Nothing happened.
-Called back changed thier mind said no refund future credit only but now they said only 1 year to travel from original date.
-Hung up called back they said if I wanted a credit if have to call the airline.
-I called the airline, they said BC I booked threw a third party I would have to get credit from them as that's who they already credited back.
– Called back farescan they said they would look into it and get back to me.
-2 weeks went by no call back so I called them
– They are now saying BC Virgin is still flying, I'm able to use the credit for Domestic flights (within Australia I live in Canada) but I have to use the credit on or before Sept 24 2020. Mind you they are telling me this on Oct 15 2020 and my Original flight was for December so I would have had to use my credit before my original flight would have taken place ( mind blowing )
– So basically what they are saying is to bad so sad, you could of used your credit but now we are just keeping your money not my problem.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM … THEY NEED TO BE SHUT DOWN…..

This company should not be allowed to represent the airlines. They are a scam. They have not refunded my ticket (full refund) per TAP policy and per their own website policy. They have violated their merchant agreement with Visa & MasterCard and this is the only way to receive the amount they with hold due to not providing a service which they have (or the airline has) cancelled. These people are crooks and thieves. I have unsuccessfully been trying to get my due back for 6 months now. They should never be allowed to operate under this or any another airline ticketing consolidator name. If you find yourself in the same situation, do place a complaint with the airline you were set to fly with as well as the US department of Transportation.

Contrary to their reply, they have not processed a refund and this is now being dealt with the CC Company given that they are in breach of their merchant agreement ie by charging a fee and not providing a service…they are in breach of any published policy from the airline and of their own policy on their website.

I would give them no stars if I could. They owed me a refund of 1,000 dollars and kept me running around for 6 months- promising a refund- then denying knowledge of my claim and very existence. The BBB needs to shut these charlatans down!

UPDATE: I finally received my refund. Refund was in full. Overall flights are affordable, it鈥檚 not a scam site or anything but book at your own risk because you may just be wasting your money…..Since I have received my refund I updated them to 2 stars….

I booked a flight with farescan about 10 months ago. I was notified by the airline that my flight was cancelled (there were no covid-19 travel restrictions for my destination at time of cancellation and I was actually able to fly with another airline). The airline offered me a refund via farescan within 28 business days. Since then I have been contacting farescan for months looking for a refund. First I was told all refund requests were by email but no one ever responded to me. Then I was told the refund was delayed due to the airline. I contacted the airline and of course this was not the case. Then I was told my refund was sent for processing to their billing department and that they were experiencing delays. The last I heard was that the refund would be available within 14 days. Which I heard twice. Now for the past two days I鈥榲e contacted farescan and I鈥檓 being told they are unable to get in touch with billing dept for a status update. I鈥檝e been promised a refund and a return call on the status and I鈥檓 still waiting after 3/4 months of emails and calls.

Stay away from these guys… Bunch of crooks out to cheat. Get the rates from these guys & do your booking with a real travel agent that has an office. At least they will be accountable to the passenger. You cant even go after them because it is a bunch of guys taking calls for many unheard online agencies. You have no legal recourse against these cheats.

This is the worst company and more like Fare SCAM!
I had purchased a round ticket and I was notified by the airline that one of the legs on my return flight has been cancelled due to COVID-19. I have reached out to call center and asked for a full refund of the return flights as per the airline policy. I was told an email had been sent to the refund department and stated refund would occur in 1-2 billing cycle but they didn't process the refund, I have contacted escalation department as well and they didn't refund my money for cancelled ticket by airline after 5 months of poor service and false promise.

Have a similar situation as you guys. Had tickets overseas for March 15. Tried to call them numerous times and no luck. Was really concerned due to the current travel situation, quarantine, and pandemic. I didn't get any updates from FareScan about my upcoming flight( as you all remember things got changed just around that time). Therefore, my bank suggested to dispute and after a few months of back and forth payment, I was denied and still have to pay $800 for the service I didn't receive. If someone from FareScan (for me it's FareScam ) is reading this, please get back to me!!! with the proposal on how we can sort things out and for now, I prefer to leave my review here. Guys are safe and DON'T BUY tickets from them.

Indeed you have a bad reputation, if not worst of all. I made a claim for refund since March 2020 and all I get were lip service. Last time June 2020 you told me that you can not refund my ticket since China Eastern Airlines did not also return the money to you, only to find out that China Eatern Airlines already returned the money in April 2020. SCAMMER!!!!!!!!!

They were not returning my money so I called my Bank and started a dispute against them. I was finally able to receive my money back as my Bank and Visa got involved thru a dispute.

Please Start a dispute with your bank ASAP, you will get your money back. Do not believe anything Farescan/Exploretrip guys say on call (18007875690).

February 2020 I booked two tickets for my son and daughter in low through Fare Scan and 4 more tickets through Turkish Airlines.
The flights were for end of May.The airline cancelled all flights due to covid-19. We got our full refund from Turkish Airlines immediately.
Fare Scan agree to refund but claim $ 250.00 fee for cancellation.The agent told me this is non refundable charge from the airline even the flights were cancelled not by me but from Turkish Airlines.When I disagree with that,they sent me an E mail to "agree"with this fee and refund of $ 250.00 less. He told me if I don鈥檛, I will lose my money even though pandemic has caused the problems not me.They wanted to have a proof that I agree with that in case if I decide to file a complain with my credit card.
The cancellation was made on 06/10/20.I called many times to ask for my refund and the answer was after 2 billing cycles?????Which billing cycles-no explanation.I still do not have refund.
On 7/24/20 they told me I have to wait to the end of August.They lied that Turkish Airlines did not refunded my money to them yet.
Why this company is holding my money?What I need to do to have my money back??This agency making money from this virus outbreak which is really disgusting.This is a SCAM Agency.

Worst company ever. Purchased my ticket in February for a flight in mid may. I cancelled in 1st of May due to Covid and they said a refund would be processed in two months. I called 2 months later and several times after that with them telling me to wait longer with each call. On July 15 I called again and told me that they would have someone from their refund department personally call me within 30 minutes to explain why there is such a delay. I was waiting but there was no call. In addition, their customer service is unbelievably ridiculous and unprofessional. You'll wait a minimum of 45 min each time and once an agent answers you'll be waiting an additional 30 min so the agent can get in contact with the refund department. Furthermore, a most of the agents I spoke to were extremely rude and some were even ridiculing. To this day I still haven't got gotten a single penny and they refused to refund the full amount, agreeing to a refund $150 less from the full amount. This company is a scam. Notify friends, family, and spread the word on social media to avoid this company at all costs, even if the price. You may be one of the unlucky ones who gets stuck in another country because of their lack of integrity and poor customer service.

DONT EVER BUY FROM FARESCAN. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. SAVE TIME AND DONT BUY FROM THEM. STILL WAITING FOR MY REFUND ITS BEEN 1 AND HALF MONTHS. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Worest experience choosing this company.Each time you call, you get different answers about how to deal with the tickets cancelled by Covid-19.After 4-5 times call them, They agreed to refund, but claim $200 fee for cancellations per ticket even though this was cancelled due to Covid-19.FARESCAN is a dishonest company.

Farescan, as every other review on this page has pointed out, is nothing more than a scam. My refund was promised to me on my date of cancellation (due to COVID), and they charged me roughly $250 for a refund. I accepted this tired of trying to fight them back. They promised in a written email that the refund would take 2 months. It has now been four months and they are not even giving me a time I can expect my refund. I have called them multiple times, been put on wait for a phone call from a supervisor that never came (this happened three times), and they refuse to confirm anything they say in an email when talking through customer service. Moreover, I have been provided emails to talk my issue over, only not to be answered. I can only hope that if my refund doesn't come it means this company went under.

No service, No Helping , they steal your money, kidding you and lie to you!!! Play with customers on important matters , this is all they do to me. No refund of my ticket or Future Credit nothing ! I payed them almost 1000$ for my tickets and getting nothing for it. The company doesn't care that they break the law. As an internet customer from abroad, you won't even get an answer , doesn't matter you calling them or write to them. I will sue them and complain at the Airline cooperating wit them. Also I Go the long way over my credit card to trouble them.

FareScan continues to dispute the refund due to flight cancellation BY AIRLINE due to the virus. Obviously trying to take advantage of the ignorance of public on this issue. It is very clear that the US Dept of Transportation states that if the flight is cancelled by airline, passenger is entitled to a full refund REGARDLESS of the reason. FareScan will have to refund the FULL amount and have lost a client for life. Furthermore, I will apply a negative rating and review anywhere I can online and tell everyone I know on what kind of company it is. At the end FareScan is trying to cheat the public and it will come back to haunt them. For anyone reading this if you need a refund from FareScan, dispute thru your credit card company and be prepared with documentation.
FareScan has responded with the same copy and paste BS that they send everyone else, they have 2-3 responses that they use which don't mean anything. Let's all sue these scumbags.

I booked a turkish airlines flight with farescan that was cancelled due to COVID. Turkish airlines' policy for my flight was a full refund, but farescan first tried to withhold $1,000 and then settled to withhold $400. It is turkish airlines policy they receive a full refund or full voucher. They pocket 25-50% of this cash and give the rest back to the customer. This is an extremely unethical company that I will NEVER use again. Be warned! Do not use farescan.
