Shortly after the Coronavirus impacted the United States I applied for a refinance on my house. I was approved and All i needed was an appraisal. The first appraisal came back low. I know this appraisal report was inaccurate. So i called back asking to challenge the validity of the report. That also did not work. Genisys credit union Told me to get another appraisal. While all of this is happening I鈥檓 under the impression I鈥檓 still approved for the loan. So i continue with the second appraisal. This second appraisal comes In 50,000 more then the first one. At this point I鈥檓 a little frustrated I鈥檝e had to pay for two appraisals resulting in 50,000 dollar difference between the two. Armed with the current appraisal I ask the bank to move forward. They finally reply that they can not move forward until the government lifts the stay at home order. I was lead to believe that the loan was still approved based on a valid appraisal. I only tried Genisys Credit Union because of the lending practices. Feeling miss informed, lied to, and taking advantage off is not the best way to start a business relationship. At this point I鈥檓 considering refinancing with my current bank (PNC).

Took my son to the Deer Lake ( Clarkston) location to open a bank account. There were 2 people ahead of us waiting in the waiting room and one customer in the room. After 20 minutes of waiting and still 2 people ahead of us, took him to Vibe Credit Union and It only took a minute for a customer service representative to help him. Numerous times, I have gone to the Genisys in Waterford by the Dollar Tree (M59) and I have to wait in this long line with only one or two Windows open. The best is the Genisys on Dixie Highway, between Walton and Sashabaw. Never have to wait long and great customer service!

I had an unauthorized transaction on my account for $ 11,478.13 and have been trying to work with both the Eagan office and MI main office to get it resolved. I have been a member with Genisys for about 20 years and had my share of issues with them but I thought all was going to be better now that Bruce is gone but now things just got worse. I am working with FDIC to get my money back but they are telling me there is a lapse in there insurance. Do yourself a favor and go some where else!

The app was better before the update now most of the features dont work. Use to be able to view my statements online that looked like ones they mailed you now you cant. I have had 4 debit cards in 4 months because "fraudulent activity" so they shut down my card with out notice. I travel for work so it is a major inconvenience to not have my debit card working.

I like my credit union, the fee's are less money than other banks. They have nice people to talk with. It is easy and fun to communicate and they make me enjoy going to the bank.

I always have a great experience with the tellers. However, the loan/accounts staff in not so good. They are always condescending to me. The corporate staff is even worse. They just treat you like a number, not an actual person.

I have utilized several benefits of being member of credit union- financial planning, transferring to higher yield checking..had to go to bank regarding fraud and matter was handled within 24 hours. I definitely would recommend Genisys Credit union to others.
