Gandhi International Shipping

If any of you are shipping your things from USA to India, please do not take the services of Gandhi Shipping International
They are dupes and very inefficient. My shipment reached after 4 months and in very bad condition. None of the boxes are in shape. Plastic items inside were all broken.
After shipment reaches Mumbai port, they notified us to send passport in original and I94 copies to their Mumbai address for customs clearance. After 15 days they returned passport with a letter stating 鈥榳e are hereby returning original passport no xxxxxx after clearance鈥?
After 2 days we receive an email to pay Gandhi shipping ~ Rs. 18000 for customs clearance. Only after payment they will ship items to our Pune address otherwise our things will be auctioned off.
We transferred the said amount.

Around 4 dats later the shipment arrived, the driver just put the boxes in the lobby and left. This is not a door to door service as advertised. We had to struggle to take the things to our 4th floor apartment from the ground floor.

They also charged me Rs 18000 after the shipment reached Indian port which is in addition to $1300 that we paid upfront. The additional amount was a surprise for us. They gave a reason that this was needed for customs clearance but when we demanded the customs receipts/challans, they could not provide the same.

We have requested several times for the government receipt/ challan for the additional Rs.18000, they replied that the customs challan is a combined challan for all the consignments together and so they can not provide us govt challan for Rs. 18000. Instead they just sent us one Gandhi shipping internal invoice.
Gandhi shipping is inefficient and are dupes. They charge additional amounts without receipts, they do not respond to calls, they do not respond to emails and their shipments handling is rough. Most things get damaged.

really in the beginning when I brought my car to this office I was worried cz I saw the reviews here and some people they didn't recommend them but when I shipped my car from Gandhi international shipping from Chicago to Saudi Arabia they were so nice to me and explain everything to me too . they told me its ganna be delivered in tow months and really it happened and I found everything in my car . thanks Mushir and Azeam for great service and really recommend friends and people to do deal with you

The entire team of Gandhi International including their CEO are very unprofessional. We had shipped 2 TV's with them to India and they charged us for the special crate while they only shipped one TV in the crate while the second one was shipped with the box we packed in

Our 60" LED TV completely got destroyed during the shipment process and we had bought insurance and when the time came to process it, the insurance company stated that Gandhi team bought "theft or vessel fire" insurance and not handling insurance and they usually buy similar insurance for everyone. The most unprofessional part of it is when they quoted, it said "insurance" without any details and when asked, they would not reply to emails or phone call. Basically, we paid $75 in insurance for nothing and took a loss of $2K. We also had to pay duty on the TV in India and they would not reimburse for any of this even though they accepted it was their error

I tried calling them multiple times and they would avoid my calls and if emailed, they would hardly respond or direct me to someone else to discuss further but no outcome. In the end, their CEO sent a one-line email, we are sorry for the inconvenience and when I asked why haven't you picked up my phone, he ignored me again

My suggestion is to stay far away from them. Their pricing is not very competitive compared to others but I came in here because they had decent reviews but in the end, they turned out to be a horrible freight forwarder.

We have used Gandhi International shipping several times over the past 6 years, for both international and local moves. Each time they have been priced more expensive than competitors, but each time we have been extremely glad we have used them.

The initial phase was impressive when I contacted them. They immediately provided quotation and followed up for payment and shipment. The real problem started when I contacted them after 2 months for the status of the shipment. I called them when they didn't responded to my emails. I have been told that the shipment reached destination and will be out for next week. When the consignment didn't reached after 3 week, I contacted them and they again made the same statement that it will be out by next week. Two weeks later I contacted with Owner of company hearing false promises from customer agents and that didn't helped too. I've been directed to Agent who deliver the consignment at destination. It was not my job to follow up with them, however I did follow up and didn't get any positive response. Finally, It took around 6 months to reach the consignment at destination after continuous followup with Gandhi Shipping and their vendor at destination location. I used other company for my other shipment and it was very smooth. They provide regular update and keep there promise.
I will not recommend Gandhi Shipping. Try other companies and they are really good!!
